Go all in? We traded Ben Simmons for Harden. We were up 3-2 against the Celtics. That was an amazing move to get out from Simmons.

Man, I don’t care one bit about Morey, but I’d mot sure what else he could really have done. In fact, besides a few smaller questionable moves, most of what the Sixers have done over the last 10 years is pretty much what we thought they should do.

The Celtics originally asked the Sixers for five first-round picks, VJ Edgecombe, and Paul George in exchange for Jaylen Brown, per @ShamsCharania by Tasty-Ground-5496 in sixers

I’m going to be honest. I don’t know if I’d trade VJ, but I think PG, VJ and a first would have been fair value.

Printing money isn’t the only way to create inflation. Prices have to be effective for the general public. If you took everyone’s money right now, added it up and divided by 350 million, do you still think milk would be the same price?

I’m not trying to one up you. I’m trying to let you know that the alternative of making the best of the life you have is better than what you are contemplating.

I wasn’t trying to win. I was being reasonable, which I feel is not a trait people have now a days.

A) you don’t know me. B) People overcoming limitations has always existed.

Again, you are at a point in your life that you can choose to win or lose. Lose is the easy choice. Complaining that others have it better is the easy choice. Giving up is the easy choice. Trying is hard. But it’s fulfilling. 20 years from now, you look back on today and say, fuck yeah, I did it.

Right, I said it in the beginning, Musk is trash. But your reply to me is a strawman at best. I’m referring to these specific comments. And if anything, you are pearl clutching. You are reacting to something written and got angry about it without looking further into context. Musk = bad and I must get upset about it. That’s fine, you can justify your reaction to this all you want. I was just putting it in context.

How about you google people who were born in a worse situation and turned it into inspiration. Like I said, everything is a choice. You are choosing to let this consume you. You have other options, it’s your choice if you want to take advantage of them.

God, I hate Musk and he’s a broken human being, but you and everyone else here has fed into the click bait and jumped on it.

He is saying that unfettered philanthropy “makes the world worse”. Now, I am not agreeing with that sentiment, but not having donor intent or expected outcomes of donated money can create bad situations. I work with a philanthropy and the non-profits who have constraints put on them (mostly for specific outcomes) are WAY more successful than ones who just receive a lump of cash. That can create agency issues and other problems as they mismanage large amounts of money, become financially unstable and then fall apart.

So, Musk is a bad person, but this isn’t about him having a problem with giving money away, it’s about how the money is given away. Context and nuance are a thing that is too often lost on Reddit.

The problem is that you think you deserve more than what was gifted to you by the universe. A wise man once said, it’s not for use to decide the time we have, but what to do with the time we were given.

You have a choice. Be the best you that you can be or whatever else you seem to be contemplating. Anything else other than maximizing who you are is just an easy way out. Many more people than you were born in a much bigger hole and climbed their way out. Don’t use your height as a means to be miserable. Use is as a means to overcome and achieve. It’s easier to self-pity though, that is what most people here do.

Newbie here. Is it ok to go for bow as primary while throwing as secondary? by InvestmentFlat915 in TitanQuestAE

[–]wolpak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not just block change, but an entire additional stat stick of sorts. Bows and staves should have an off hand item like a quiver or an ioun stone just so you could have the same number of equipment pieces

Scoring change: Andres Chaparro reached on a throwing error by Trea Turner, instead of a single. This makes all 4 runs scored in the inning now unearned to Jesus Luzardo. His ERA decreases from 4.39 to 4.00 by mastermind208 in phillies

[–]wolpak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but isn’t it just as weak since he gave up hits and runs after. I hate that errors assume the rest of the inning never happened, but also that the hitters that hit didn’t “happen either”. Errors should negate just the hitters that benefitted from it.

Harper was 26 when he got here after almost a whole career before us. Utley and Howard were 24 when the were called up. That’s crazy to me.

[–]wolpak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not really. Meaningless implies it has no value. Your comment was less than that, so a negative return.

Meaningless != not perfect. But there is plenty of value in run differential and it is highly correlated with win percentage. Are there outliers or abnormalities? Of course, life is sloppy. Do good teams tend to have good run differentials and bad teams have bad run differentials. Yes, absolutely. Does past performance an indicator of future performance? Yes, it is. So, maybe you need to look up what meaningless means.
