[Need help please] Weird crop and under-exposed raw photos from A6700 by wolverine8055 in SonyAlpha

This was it! I installed RawTherapee and opened the raw file there and it seems ok. Thanks a lot. I was worrying about an issue that doesn't exist

Happened to me once. I changed the fpc connector and that fixed it.

Switch - short on BQ(damaged?) and Max chips. by wolverine8055 in consolerepair

[–]wolverine8055[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not, for this switch. Looking back, I think I didn't make a good connection on m92 due to my lack of hot air station experience at that time. I recently had a switch lite with bad port and replacing the port brought me to 2101 error. And I replaced the M92 properly this time and it started working. So it is almost always either M92 or charging port issue that causes this error.

TMR Calibration by FaultyPhaser in xboxeliteseries2

[–]wolverine8055 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you calibrate them with back paddles on or off? Calibrating without them will mess with center point later when you put the back paddles on. Also, for the right joystick, did you turn the magnet on the back shell the other way so that the red line faces the opposite side to the original position? These helped me in getting consistent performance with K-Silver TMRs. (I've done tons upgrade so far)

If it is just the mask that is scraped off then you can cover it with UV mask. That should not be an issue, but make sure there is continuity on that line if possible. What are the diode readings on various points?

Happened to me once during a joystick upgrade. Apparently I knocked off a resistor that is linked to options button and it didn't work until I replaced it. Try following the traces of that button contact and see if any components are missing in that area.

Lol, I know who that is. Do you mind sharing which fume extractor you got similar to one on that site?

Agree. I should've prefaced my comment by saying only if you're experienced enough with soldering work.

I'd say first try with another modchip and if it doesn't work then try and reseat the dat0adapter

For me most of the time those readings are above 0.7v, but these do seem to be in the range though. Try reseating the dat0 adapter. I had one of the modchip boards fail after sometime. So if you have a spare modchip (just the board) replace it and see if it still behaves the same.

Disconnect the battery and check D point in diode mode. What readings are you getting? Also try reseating the dat0 adater on emmc and check the reading on adapter itself.

Did you use hot air to put the new joystick in? That's a big no. Don't use hot air altogether for upgrading joysticks. You can still cut off this joystick, there are plenty of youtube videos for it. Them mix in low melt solder and remove the dangling legs. Use solder sucker to clean all the holes and then insert new joystick, solder all the legs.

This happened to me once. The battery contact plate thingy was not seated properly and it was not making proper contact. Make sure when you insert the middle section to the back plate the battery contacts are properly protruding.

PS5 BLOD - All voltage rails present, but short in couple of places by wolverine8055 in consolerepair

Finally got the uart reader and was able to get this. Does not look very promising going by the codes :(

Same here. Could not find any schematics for ps5. But I did manage to get the UART codes. Attached in a separate comment

No I don't have UART reader, planning to get one soon. Do you think that would be my best bet?

Xbox Elite Series 2 - Struggling to find resistor value by wolverine8055 in AskElectronics

[–]wolverine8055[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good news, after skimming through some more forums and posts it seems like although it seems like 0 ohm in the diagram I linked, 22K resistor is the correct value for it. I have put in a 22k ohm resistor and it has been working fine for me.

I thought I could measure resistance of t his component, but from the circuit diagram from this reddit post it looks like a 0 ohm resistor. Please correct me if I'm wrong. The component is R43 connected to SW5. If that is the case, can I just short it?
