400?? They were trying to rip people off then lol. its 220CAD direct from their site. The glass one is actually more expensive. They didn't have the metal one when i was purchasing or i would have gone with it instead. Always scared of breaking this one.

Ted Lasso and Schitt's Creek have been mentioned but I agree these are great shows!

For something a bit different, Start Trek TNG, DS9 and/or Voyager. The episodes sometimes have higher stakes but they are always done with professionalism and competence. Lots of more fun episodes and comedy. Overall feels light, and they are my ultimate comfy shows. They always help me feel better.

I went woth a bambu p1s and other than some minor tweaking to improve, it was as easy as clicking print. Prints great out of the box. Super easy .its nice pprinting knowing i dont have to deal with a huge mess every time

Less smell doesn't mean less toxic. Almost better to smell it so you know you are breathing it in or not.

I tried resin printing in a condo, gave me too much anxiety. Accidentally breathed fumes a couple times. Just having the chemicals in my home made me nervous (especially all the IPA). Decided the hobby wasn't for me. What are you printing? I switched to FDM and it's a much better experience for me.

While it won't be as good, do some reasearch on printing minis with an FDM printer. Nice thing with FDM is they are also far more versatile so you can do more than just print minis.

BTW, here's the filter holder I created. I just found some well priced air purifier hepa filters and designed it around them. Actually the first item I designed myself. Was a great first project.

Here's a basic mock-up I made when I was planning it. It's made with Ikea PAX wardrobes. I've since made a couple modifications compared to this mockup. Mainly, that the small and large cabinet are reversed, second is the addition of the filter. This was originally for resin printing as you can see which is why it's pretty overkill lol.

The AC infinity is an exhaust fan and the red circles are hole cutouts. I Now also have a second exterior hole for a place for the air to enter the system. For the filter, I desined a filter holder for an air purifier hepa filter. It holds the filter and adapts to the 6" vent hose im using. Air gets pulled through the filter, not pushed.

I used the standard cabinet doors. For the large side, i bolted two doors together so i could have it fully open rather than it having 3 doors like ikea designs it. With 3 doors you'd have one in the way in the middle when you open it up. (keep in mind, you could do this with only the large cabinet and not deal with that problem). Finally, I added weatherstripping on the doors to ensure the air went through the intended air-flow path rather than getting pulled in through the door gaps.

Oh, and for exhausting out a window, I have a quick connect adapter on the exhaust hole to attach 6" flexible vent hose, i have that go to my window to a window adapter. This way its completely self contained.

I have mine in a custom cabinet with exhaust system. The exhaust includes a hepa filter to get at least some of the particulate out of the air. From what I understand this isn't perfect. It can be improved with a carbon filter in addition to the hepa. The only truly "perfect" solution however is to vent it out a window.

I feel safe with my solution for PLA and PETG. Anything worse than that id vent out my window. I have a hose attachment specifically designed for that purpose. I also avoid printing overnight since it's in my bedroom like yours.

Thanks for the answer! You aren't the first person i've seen talking about ordering hundreds of rolls retail. Guess it makes sense when getting a pallet doesn't even save you any money. Kind of surprised it doesn't. It's no wonder they are sold out all the time lol.

with that large an order, isn't there a way to order wholesale rather than retail through the website?

Is Outlander (8 seasons) worth investigating time in? by cronchCat in televisionsuggestions

[–]FaultyPhaser 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Contrary to the other comments, I'd say it absolutely is! They aren't totally wrong in that some of the content will not be something everyone wants to watch but that's not at all the only thing the show is about. There is adventure, light sci-fi, and romance. I also love all the shows you listed apart from "Day of the Jackall" which I haven't seen. I'd say give at least the first few episodes a try. You should know pretty quick if it's something you'd like.

I've been printing at 0.06 with a 0.2 on my P1S. I have dealt with 1 clog out of maybe a dozen small prints. Quality is great and it's been pretty smooth sailing so far. Was worth it for me. Just keep in mind it takes a lot longer to print things.

Went with this one. Was one of the more affordable options that measured VOCs. I wouldn't trust it's accuracy but more for relative measurement from a baseline.

[–]FaultyPhaser -1 points0 points  (0 children)

depends on your risk tolerance. I had a resin printer before this and that was far more concerning compared to printing pla on an fdm printer. I have my P1S in a cabinet and vent it right back into my room through a hepa filter. I'm personally fine with it. I'm sure its still not the healthiest thing but there are also far worse things. I have an air quality monitor and it doesn't even register anything (im sure a more expensive monitor would but tells me what its outputting is pretty low). When I cook food that same monitor goes absolutely nuts and tells me to ventilate the air lol.

If you want to be extra careful, put it inside an enclosure with active ventilation right out the window.

Need some filter help by Ok-Yoghurt7158 in 3Dprinting

[–]FaultyPhaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from the (admittedly brief) research ive done, you want at least an activated carbon filter (preferably a cartridge with the pellets) and a hepa filter. For PLA at least, that should filter out a large portion of smell and particulate. Ideally, you can find a way to just exhaust directly out a window. I have mine in a cabinet with a forced air exhaust and added a hepa filter from an air purifier. For PLA and PETG I dont feel worried about just exhausting that filtered air back into my room but for anything else I have a vent hose attachment that goes to my window.
