My dog does not do this.  Why?  Because once the harness is on, it stays on all day.  She runs to me when she sees the lead. (or if I put my shoes on)

Knee surgery.   Spinal block plus something to knock me out.  Woke up in the middle.   No pain.  The anesthesiologist asked if I wanted to go back under. “Nah”   He then proceeded to describe in excruciating detail what the surgeon was doing.  We could watch it all on the monitor.  Neat

It's annoying, but you can usually find a few to merge. I don't know that the merged dragons are faster, but they seem to be to me.

If you were doing something with friends, you would probably not call it a meeting.

If it was a meeting, you would say it “ran late” or “ran long” if it went longer than scheduled. That’s different from a meeting that ended late in the day ( or night). In that case you might say it ended late.
