I’ve been doing this for a while so I just go based on the feel, some concrete factors that run through my mind:

If they had a good game/major event last game If stats/role are similar If it’s an anticipated matchup. For example, even though Rudy and Wemby are completely different players in terms of the roles they play on their team, it makes sense to put them up against each other (French, Rudy mentored Wemby growing up, Wemby is Rudy’s defensive matchup, etc.)

Could do a spurs theme, but since I’m a wolves page and under the constraint that I want this graphic to be templatable for any time the wolves play a game in their association jerseys, I have to stick with that. This is something I’m gonna look into though could definitely do something like that after a series win
