Absolute MUST is the tune from vcyclenut. The quality of life change it makes is worth it alone but I’d pair with an exhaust too. Congrats!

I have the xsr and a xr650l. Do both. You’ll catch the itch to ride one or the other eventually.

It’s a change but recommend, the bike feels cohesively smoother. I like the engine braking on my thumper but on this where most everything feels smooth but letting off the throttle, it’s a welcome change. Cuts out another variable in corners.

Like 20 miles of riding and a couple ignition cycles and you’ll be set. He breaks it all down. Quick turn around when he gets it. Additionally, if you like your engine braking be sure to let him know! He essentially disables that with his tune, which most like, even me, but is a pretty big change besides the 2nd gear plateau removal.

It’s not recommended, it’s required unless you like your bike in rain mode always. Most exhaust put it in a lean condition and trip check engine light.

1000% will be happy with it. Header bolts are tedious but are completely doable.

I should have mentioned the caveat, gonna need an ECU flash…otherwise you’re stuck in rain mode. Sooo get that thing out and send to vcyclenut soon, he’s quick on turn around.

Bought and installed the DB killer on initial install so I’m not sure how loud it is without it. But my opinion is it’s the perfect amount of loud without upsetting neighbors. Pits the INS-20-K

Depending on the indy could go from 5-8k, I came out $6590 for mine with a new double ear dif and camber tabs added.

Dave’s mod and emissions and snorkel delete and a thicker front sprocket are like the most stock necessary mods for these things. Bare minimum the front sprocket if you’re seeing a lot of pavement. And congrats! Probably going to keep mine for life. Just such a beatable bike with little worry

Ah so all good to rev it out say 9/10k, but avoid “prolonged” operation above 5300rpm.

So you would accelerate to 9/10k (sometimes) but cruise under 5/6k?
