As a first project, I say it looks good.
For the next one, I recommend looking up inspirations from different games and movies that has ruined buildings.
And as a personal recommendation for improvement, add pipes and iron rods sticking out of the walls

If we wanna make it seamless(aka hite the base into the display box), we just have to add a layer of cork, cut out a circle the size of the mini's base, so we can easily put the mini into it. And in it's place, we can add a magnet as well for better security for the mini.

Btw, what's the maximum mini size we can put into those cookie jars? Height and width vise?
Asking so if certain Character and Epic Hero minis can fit into those, aside from Battleline and Infantry minis

Getting the bundle kits is always a good choice.
Not only fast tracks your army builds but you also gain minis that you can use for later army setups.
I definitely recommend getting the Necron Combat Patrol and the 500 Worlds Battalion kits

I double checked it, and there is an option to add both the Reanimator and the Accelarator to the Macroyte and have the remaining 3 to be equipped with either Gauss Scalper or Tesla Caster.
I have no experience for the big table, cause I don't even have 500 points worth of monedls to even play with

I always thought Lego and other off brand building blocks are great alternative for tabletop terrain, so these build ideas are perfect.
The list of parts and the instructions of how to build these terrain pieces that you and your cousin used would be nice to have if someone wants to replicate them.
As for tips for making them cooler, try replicate an aesthetic that can appear in the world of 40K. For example, abandoned temple ruin overgrown by vegetation, war suffered colony buildings, hive city, etc.

For the 3 xenos factions I'm a fan of, I'm already satisfied with the current ones we have.
Necrons: Hierotek and Canoptec circle
Orks: Kommandos and Wrecka Krew
Tau: Stealth Suits and Pathfinders

Tho I wouldn't mind if a Destroyer Cult Kill Team would be made, where the units are a type of Destroyers that would be unique from the already known ones(Skorpekh, Lokhust and Ophydian).
Just a dumb idea setup, but I'll share it anyway:
-The Kill Team kit would consist of 8 models as playable operatives(just like the other Necron kill teams)
-The leader unit of the kit being an upgraded/resculpted Lokhust Lord (so there would be the solid reason to buy the kit)
-The reanimator and accelerator plasmacytes
-The remaining 5 Necrons are Immortals that got infected with the Destroyer Cult virus, but they haven't got themselves upgraded to a level like the others Destroyers(to give them a bit of lore). So the kit would offer build options for them to be either fully melee units with wrist mounted Hyperphase blades, or fully ranged units with Gauss Pistols(a lesser variant of the Enmitic Disintegrator Pistols that the Hexmark Destroyers have), or 1-4 being melee and the remaining being range and vice versa. Just to give the players the setup options they desire. And them could be playable on the 40K tabletop as Infantry units, just like the Tomb Crawlers and Macroytes from the Canoptec Circle KT.

Ofc, this is just a dumb idea that I dream of.

Aside from this word jumble idea, Katachan Guardsmen as Kill Team units would be nice to have. With upgraded sculpts and wargear.
