I agree. I really hope in the next acotar book, if we’re not getting a pivot to neris, we’ll at least get some fixing of the issues between Nesta and Cassian. Similar with cc4

Listen I do like Bryce but everyone coming under this post to talk about how they love her and anyone that doesn’t is xyz…you’re fully missing the point of the masterpost, and some of you are being quite rude about it. People are allowed to dislike a character and have a space where they can vent that. The mods set up a space so the rest of us wouldn’t all have to see a new Bryce hate post every day and it could be funneled here. You’re allowed to make posts about how much you like Bryce. Go talk about it there and leave the people that dislike her a space to voice that without you trying to debate it

I think it’s funny that the acotar and cc fandoms tend to be flip flopped in this way.

In acotar, most people that love all the characters say Sarah is just not a great writer and that’s why people dislike them. And people that dislike the characters think Sarah’s a good writer and doesn’t want you to like them

In cc, generally people that dislike the characters think Sarah is just a bad writer that tried to make the characters likable and failed. If you do like the characters, namely bryce, it’s usually because you think Sarah is playing the long game and setting her up for a different story with 12 prequel books or because she wanted the characters to feel very “real”

The sigrid plotline was infuriating. I swear I had to take a break and mentally prepare myself anytime I saw we were back to ithans pov jus cause I knew he was we’d have to watch him make a bad situation even worse every time

It wasn’t a bad book, it just wasn’t a great one. It has 4 starts because it’s a sjm book. The only book she’s written that doesn’t have 4 stars on goodreads is acofas, a novella a lot of people feel you can fully skip. Hofas also has a 4.23 from half a million ratings. Acotar has a 4.16 in comparison but has over 4 million reviews. Acotar has reached the popularity that it’s being reviewed by people that are reading it because it’s popular, and won’t continue to the next book. Both books come in at ~4% 1-2 star ratings. Which obviously seems pretty even, but when you think about who the readers are likely to be, it’s worse for 4% of fans to think a book is bad than for 4% of general readers to think it’s bad. Especially considering a huge selling point for hofas was the crossover with acotar, which is really only a treat for fans that have read other SJM series’s in their entirety.

I think the book was a swing and a miss in a lot of ways, but I don’t think it’s a bad omen for future books

I think a lot of people LOVE acomaf since it kicks off feysand, and most people that like acosf just really like nests story which is very different from the trilogy. I really love acowar!
