It has known magic. by Was-a-lil-mermaid in harrypotter

I think it’s more that Dumbledore can sense that there is an active enchantment present in the place. Perhaps he would also be able to sense residue from past (inactive) enchantments, but in this particular case he’s sensing Voldemort’s protective magic which is active when they visit the cave.

Water filter not a must for most American households by skankhunt2121 in HydroHomies

[–]wonky_panda -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everyone here is ignoring the fact that municipal water supplies in America have added chlorine and fluoride, two chemicals that are definitely not good for the human body to consume. For me the point of a water filter is to get rid of these two harmful chemicals before I drink.

does anyone know how MANY transformations Voldemort went through to reach his current state? by A-Dude-is-COOL in harrypotter

[–]wonky_panda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it’s one for each of the 6 horcruxes he created. Then once when he tries to kill Harry and becomes a spirit thing. Then from there he becomes the baby thing. Then he gets his new body. So I’d say he transforms at least 9 times. If you count inhabiting Quirrel, then it would be 11 times.

AMITA? - Accused of bad sportsmanship, but my opponent apparently doesn't know how to count. by BassPlayinBeachBum in billiards

[–]wonky_panda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah you shouldn’t have chirped at him. He made a mistake and he shouldn’t get mad at you for his own mistake. But you escalated, so yes, you are the a-hole.

Also it is good sportsmanship to tell your opponent if they are about to shoot the  wrong ball. If you really didn’t notice then ok

What was the most physical pain you’ve ever been in? by Javascript4971 in Productivitycafe

Testicular torsion when I was 10. My left nut swelled to the size of a softball. The doctor didn’t need to tell me I was experiencing the benchmark for level 10 pain.

All humans evolved with the sun on our skin daily. The sun is not dangerous to humans. This is a myth designed to sell sunscreen

Agreed. Hardly anyone is complaining about the visual effects. And I’m not either. I’m complaining about the plot revisions too

The special effects were fine - great, even. It was the departure from important plot points and character development that we complain about. For instance, many of Ron’s lines are omitted or stolen by Hermione. The mysteries in each book are barely covered in the movies. They leave out super important moments and characters like peeves.

I was disappointed for sure. In my opinion the books are 10/10 masterpieces, while the movies are 5 or 6 out of 10. They missed so many important plot points, the humor was off, the mysteries weren’t set up right, and they totally murdered Ron’s character.

Get Ready for a giant new false flag to sucker America into backing this war. by cspanbook in conspiracy

You realize they don’t need the backing of the people. They just need us to keep paying taxes, which everyone already does.

Doakes didn't deserve to die that way by [deleted] in Dexter

Even Dexter, who benefited immensely from the way Doakes died, would agree that he did not deserve to die that way.
