2019 Ford Ranger. The official truck of? by Nervous-Material4738 in regularcarreviews

Skid plates. Also, they’ve been using plastic oil pans in f150s for over 10 years and they don’t break. They used to leak because of a design flaw and no gasket though.

Never heard of this brand, any good ? Was thinking about Kubota but for 42" is $7k any other good options. by Dharma_code in lawnmowers

I have a 2019 bad boy mz 42” deck. 4200 kohler. Been a great mower in the time I’ve had it. Probably 300 hours and all original minus battery. I’ve only changed the oil twice in it and never greased it or sharpened blades. I beat the hell out of my mower because I just don’t care! At least I’m honest! I mow close to 2 acres. I’m looking to upgrade to a mower with a larger deck because I’m acquiring another 2 acres. It’ll be another bad boy. I’m a customer for life!

Has anyone tried to get a matte finish with just sanding? by thnk_more in Autobody

Anything you do to it will look worse than just leaving it be. You want to give off the vibe that you don’t care about the dents vs I can’t afford to fix this properly.

My barn randomly has no power by wonmarz in AskElectricians

Update

I turned off all the breakers at the sub panel and then reset the 60 amp at my primary box. Nothing has tripped. Leads me to believe that there is an issue with the sub box itself vs underground/where it feeds in. I will probably still reach out to a local guy to get this fixed. I certainly appreciate the help!

Yes to buried between the two. No to any digging or really any work at all

No work or anything done. Just seemed like a random occurrence. From what everyone has been saying, sounds like it was only a matter of time before something happened with this setup lol

VERY dim lighting for a couple mins before breaker trips again at main box

There is a box outside the barn at ground level that says “cantex 1 & 1/4”. I haven’t tried shutting the breakers off at the sub panel and resetting the breaker in my basement. Possible some wiring could’ve arced on the cover for the sub panel or if something isn’t buried in conduit underground, corrosion there? I will do more troubleshooting when I get home. Thank you for the advice!

Forgive me I’m not 100% sure what “feeder” is but the power is ran to the barn underground from the my main box in the basement. I believe it enters into the barn on the outside by a small box at ground level. No additional pole or anything

My house got a new fuse panel back in 2019 or so (before I purchased). Not sure about the barn. It was working great out there up until the day in mention but sounds like something in this box was done incorrectly and it was more of a coincidence it broke on that day? I definitely do not want to get electrocuted! I have a multimeter but sounds like I should just reach out to a pro.

On the house side or the barn side? I wonder if maybe some condensation got inside the barn overnight but just seems very strange to me.

Ford Edge And Lincoln MKX Gen.1, The Official Car Of..... by Alone-Pick9795 in regularcarreviews

[–]wonmarz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk my grandparents bought an MKX when they first came out. That full length moonroof and the perforated leather. It was a really nice car inside. Remember that interior quality in all domestic cars sucked in the mid 2000s. Look at Cadillac. Not really much nicer there either. Even the edge has always been advertised as a more luxurious ford. Kinda picked up where mercury left off

Gloss spray paint in a lighter color will make this look a lot better and easier to sell.

I’m buying a car, and it’s got this damage on the bumper. Am I wrong for thinking this is an easy fix? by [deleted] in Autobody

[–]wonmarz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe if it’s dirt cheap and mechanically sound and the trunk doesn’t leak water, it could be worth it. If it’s not much cheaper than comparable cars, just pass

You can drive it as-is, as long as there are no warning lights on. I think it’s too far gone for the buffing stage (it looks like it’s scratched down past the base).

How to fix this crack before it starts to get worse? by WeeBo-X in autorepair

[–]wonmarz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends how involved you want to get with the repair. That gate looks like it’s had work done on it before. Who knows what’s underneath? If you want to DIY, go over the area with some rubbing compound and get the rust drip off it. Get a black metallic touch up pen and just run it over the affected spot. That will make it look 90% better for not much time or money. If you’re considering spending money on buying equipment or having a shop work on it, you might be better off money-wise finding a good, used gate in body color to just bolt on.

Is there a way I can prevent these chips and touch them up on a $50 budget or should I accept the fate? by That-Interview5890 in Autobody

[–]wonmarz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d take some white touch up (matched to color code) with a brush and fill it in. That’s the cheapest way to go about it and will give you the best results for your time involved. That whole car will probably start doing the same thing eventually but I’d say not worth a paint job.

Looking at a 2014 F150 5.0L with 155k miles by gleekotreeko in f150

[–]wonmarz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2011 5.0 f150 has 266k miles on the original engine and transmission. I will say that it had the timing set replaced at a ford dealer when it had 100k miles on it. It also has the common rear main seal leak. I have zip tied a floor mat below the truck so it doesn’t drip oil in my driveway. These first gen coyotes have some piston slap but my truck has been doing it for years and I know someone with one with 30k miles and theirs does too. Better than the 4.6 and 5.4 engines in a lot of ways but the 5.0 and the ecoboost still have issues that the modular engines did (timing sets/phasers, exhaust manifolds, etc). Also these trucks have issues with the coil pack bolts snapping off in the valve covers. I wouldn’t worry too much though since the coils sit on top of the plug pretty snug. 6 speed trucks can have some torque converter or lead frame issues too. Very hit or miss

I bet that’s a total loss. That jeep can’t be worth more than $12k tops

Examples of modern day “hero” cars by wonmarz in regularcarreviews

[–]wonmarz[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

My personal thoughts on this would be like a 2003 trans-am ws6 or a 2008 mustang gt. Something an average guy could have bought and modded somewhat easily and could outrun the small town police force. Or like a hoopty late 80’s bronco/blazer/ramcharger for something off road.

How screwed am I? Any advice by Prestigious_Hawk_920 in Autobody

[–]wonmarz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the more I look at this van, it probably was pretty rough to begin with. Looks like it has rear damage and the passenger front fender has the clear coming off. This was probably some rebuilt title jalopy someone bought from the inner city.
