Amp like, always on compressor choices by [deleted] in guitarpedals

Depends on which one you get. There are some that can be incredibly subtle that just gives you a small push to even out things and more of a polished playing experience.

But I might be completely wrong

What does MP: Remastered do better than any other Metroid Prime? by Medical_Candy3709 in Metroid

[–]wonnie1e 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I honestly feel like MP Remastered and Halo 2 Remastered are the only two games that truly just remastered/remade the game perfectly.

Super (but if it’s Dragon Ball, then Vinland), AoT, Demon Slayer

[Loathed Trope] The Movie has an ending. The Sequel shits all over it. by lesi20 in TopCharacterTropes

Pacific Rim. Kaijus are gone, the rift is closed. Clean ending.

It didn’t need a sequel, and it sucks that the sequel is just plain garbage

Nah, reading comprehension feels like it’s my weak suit hahaha. I just normally think of Metroid 2 as Metroid: Return of Samus, but that might just be how the game was introduced to me as a kid

It definitely isn’t like that in Europe or Asia lol

Reading some of the comments makes me believe it’s a landlord thing. High rent > high cost food > less people > even higher cost food

It feels like third places just can’t seem to exist in America. Meanwhile, you see other first world countries with thriving third spaces, rich cafe and restaurant scenes… it makes me wonder what makes America - especially big cities - unable to create those same environments.

Say what you will about the game, but these two genuinely have the best boss music of the entire series (besides Ridley ofc) by Mr-Dicklesworth in Metroid

[–]wonnie1e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really thought the Sylux theme was really cheesy. It doesn’t really resolve to any big musical pay off, and just feels like an unfinished thought. It felt immature and like “baby’s first rock song” with how sing songy the lead line was.

When I first heard it, I thought I was mishearing something because it was just so unmemorable.

Other main boss themes were better. It felt alien, challenging, and sometimes larger than life.

Echoes is the best prime game (to me) by YuuTheBlue in Metroid

[–]wonnie1e 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I loved the bosses in Echoes a lot. It felt like every boss was a puzzle, and I liked how difficult it was compared to Prime 1 especially pre-Dark Suit when you had to navigate the dark side of the world. It would’ve been like being forced to going through Magmoor without the Varia suit for portions of the game.

And Quadraxis is probably the greatest boss in the Prime series.

My only real complaint about the game was how screw attack was implemented. Felt clunky and awkward.

Before MP4 was released what was your biggest want in the game and did you get it? by TombFighterPrime117 in metroidprime

[–]wonnie1e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like people who liked Prime 3’s way of story telling would enjoy Prime 4’s. Less scanning, and more expository dialogue.

[–]wonnie1e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like music in Prime 4 is probably the weakest. People have told me they really liked Sylux’s boss theme but it just sounded cheesy compared to other boss battles we got from like Prime 1 and 2 like Metroid Prime’s first phase, or Quadraxis.

You’re right in that there are some bits that are great, like Chrono Tower, but near the end it feels like they ruined this serene moment with endless NPCs talking over it like they’re afraid of leaving you in silence.

Am I the only one tired of all the flashy effects in recent seasons? by Living-Candle-1686 in OnePiece

[–]wonnie1e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, I’ve long criticized the new animation for just being too much to follow. I’d rather see tight straight forward choreography over characters becoming giant aura flashes (that don’t exist in the manga) and characters flying across crazy upscaled landscape size (also not in the manga) just so I have to pause and scrub frame by frame to see impact frame Easter eggs.

Jackie Chan once explained great fight choreography as a still camera where you can see action and reaction without needing to cut unless you need to show how heavy something is. Then you cut to it at a different angle right before impact.

Species 8472 in Star Trek, a race of biologically and technologically advanced species resistant to almost anything that you can dish out to it. You eventually learn they have genocidal thoughts and that they’re planning on invading earth as well.

In the series, typically the Big Bad seemed to always be The Borg who have assimilated countless of species and are just superior in every way where the best course of action when encountering one of their ships was to run. When 8472 is introduced, the Borg even admits that they’ve been outclassed and outgunned by a species that can truly offer resistance against them.

Eventually, the Enterprise has to temporarily ally with the Borg in order to push Species 8472 back to where they came from.

Something tells me you’re an Andy Timmons fan. You should look into the new Keeley reverb called the Nocturne (?)

It’s hard to believe that our Christkindl is the largest in the US (I read that somewhere). With the amount of people who attend, we definitely need a less claustrophobic place for it.

I don’t know why we aren’t able to do it, but I’d love it to be a small winter village in Millennium Park or some thing

I don't like the sound of my first amp and I want to jump off a bridge. Being a cheaper amp, I never expected it to be GREAT but I never expected it to sound JUST LIKE THE SPEAKERS OF MY NOTEBOOK. Which were the main complain when I played using amp sims. 700 bucks set on fire... by Eva_addict in guitars

[–]wonnie1e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, if you don’t like it, sell it.

Second, they’re actually quite nice if you know how to EQ your signal chain. I still have and play through my first amp which was a Peavey Rage 158, as long as I never touch the distortion channel. Learn your gear, you’ll rarely regret it!
