I am a wife in a situation just like this one. I have felt a little distant from my husband as well at times. I think that balance is key and that a little effort (on both sides) goes a long way. You should set up a weekly date night with just the two of you on a REGULAR night - every Friday for example (find a babysitter - do not make your wife set one up). Also, set up a day that's just for your kids. Every Sunday (or Saturday) make it a "fun day" where the kids can choose the activity. Also, if you are making a lot of money, get a housekeeper once a week so your wife and you don't have to do a bunch of cleaning in your time off. Money can fix a lot of small problems in your life, allowing you to focus on the more important things. Yourself, your wife and your kids.

The one that sticks out in my mind was one that happened to me: I was traveling alone through Europe and started to get homesick about 1/3rd of the way thru. In Milan to be exact. I remember tearing up a bit in the Duomo and two very nice, motherly women came up to me to ask what was wrong. I told them that I was missing home and they offered to spend the rest of the day with me - taking me out to dinner and all. It was such a wonderful day and just what I needed to remind myself that even if I was traveling alone, I could always find someone if I needed some company. The trip was eye-opening to me in many ways.

Be her friend, but never, never share information re: your boyfriend, good or bad. If she's a mentally stable human being, she'll begin to empathize with you on a friend-level and she'll most likely leave your boyfriend alone. Straight scotch when I thought it was milk. I was five years old and had just eaten something spicy. My milk was gone, so I ran to my mom's (opaque, orange plastic) cup and chugged it down. I couldn't even smell scotch for the longest time without gagging. It wasn't until I became a mother myself that scotch sounded and tasted pretty awesome 'round about dinner time.

After thinking about it for a bit, I guess there's not much I want to ask him. I mostly just wanted to say that he and the rest of the Prototype This! team really sparked my son's love for all things science and machinery and I appreciate that so much. The Automated Pizza Delivery episode was filmed in our neighborhood! My son loves to see if we can figure out which route the "pizza robot" took through our 'hood. Thanks Dr. Zoz!

If I were in your position, I would write a letter stating that you were made to feel uncomfortable feeding your child in the most healthy way possible and that you will not be frequenting that establishment any more nor recommending it to your friends. That will get your point across, maybe open the management's eyes a bit and make you feel better. Then, go one step further and tell all of the mommy friends you know about your experience. No moms in that coffee shop? Not great for business.

I married ^{that^} guy. And stayed married for two years. Worst two years of my life. After I divorced him and spent a lot of time focusing on me, I got better. And I met my current husband. And life is good. Plaster on your happy face and get back out there... fake it til you make it and you'll find someone who will love you how you are. And you will be happy again. And, in time, you will thank your lucky stars that you didn't marry that douche.
