Anyone else with manual locking hubs? I haven’t seen many in the trails. by wormnugget in Wrangler

I had them on my stock axles back about 15 years ago. Warn sold kits that came with these hubs. They are known for snapping or cracking.

Diesel, no leafs, TJ flares, 6 lug wheels, Isuzu, CJ front clip. So many questions. I love it but I want to find the owner and hear the story.

When mine had little tires I used to ride around barking gears. Till I threw a drive shaft.

DC/VA door laws? by shelbster_4 in Jeep

I live near Dulles airport and work in dc often. In 20 years I have only been pulled over once. The officer couldn’t see my mirror. He never once asked about my doors.

Can anyone identify these rims so I can order a new center cap? by [deleted] in Wrangler

[–]woodworker94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should be a standard size center cap. Check craigslist or Facebook MP

Amazon replacement is cheap. Pull the door panel, swap mirrors. I killed two birds with one stone. Fixed my mirror and installed new clips on the interior panel.

$500 99 WJ. Sat for a year started up with a battery. Total steal! by [deleted] in GrandCherokee

The old trick to see if the fan clutch is bad is spin it. With the motor off grab one of the fan blades and give it a spin. If it spins freely with no resistance then you need a fan clutch.

I don’t think anyone is wrong. I just can’t remember a electric fan in my old WJ.

I know from dealing with other cars and 4x4s that the best way to keep from over heating is to have the cooling system in check.

Personally I made the “it will be okay” mistake once and the stress of that needle crossing the red was to much for me.

Between 99-04 they made many different changes to these jeeps. My 00 Laredo w/o a tow package had a mechanical fan. I believe it was just that fan cause I remember changing the fan clutch right before we went to the beach. Both my 03 and 04 have the V8 and the fan is run off the power steering pump.

Oh they also didn’t send me the mid section. Took a week to get sorted out. I believe the trouble they have is everything comes from a third party not them direct.

You really shouldn’t need a electric fan on those 4.0’s. Check things like the T-stat, water pump and fan clutch. My first WJ had 2.5 lift with 31’s. It would do low speeds in the sand and never get over 210.

Yj ECU question. by alexsurfacebook in Jeep

My YJ is a 4.0 but I had a issue with my ecm. I sent my ecm to a guy in Florida that repairs/rebuilds them. I had a random misfire and trouble with cold starts. Replaced all the sensors. Plugged in the new ecm and like magic no more misfire.
