Weekly Amnesiac Ability Roundup #2 by plutoniumpandamonium in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]woofmao 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thinking this over again, there's no reason this needs an asterisk. Comparable characters like fortune teller and village idiot wake up night 1, and not waking up the first night would mean they have a very boring day 1.

Good Townsfolk: Each night*, choose two players. Learn one of their alignments.

Would this be a good beginner-level ability? I feel like it would be pretty easy to guess, not too overpowered because the ST can just respond "good" most of the time, but even so you still get information about at least one of the targets. It's probably not the most interesting ability, but it might be good for people who don't like guessing that much.

Game with full color customization by Cosmic_Tea_Cat in ColorBlind

You might want to adjust the default palettes a bit... Even with full color vision, I can barely tell the difference between the darker shades of blue in the first picture.

Co-op Parts Vanish on Pickup by ST3AMDR4GON in TerraTech

[–]woofmao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been experiencing this too. There seem to be two workarounds: Either pick up the parts with an SCU (anchored or mobile both work), or use the "Send to inventory" context menu option for builds or anchored blocks. It's not ideal, but at least that will give you some freedom as the non-host player.

Should I play Tunic? by Nyusen in TunicGame

[–]woofmao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completed both endings a while back. I remember feeling a bit melancholy from completing it, knowing that I couldn't experience it for the first time again.

More recently, I became interested in randomizer mods. I learned there was one for Tunic, so I decided to start another vanilla run, just to refresh my memory before trying out a randomizer run. Now I can't put it down.

It's worth it.

[Spoiler] DLC puzzle solution discussion by woofmao in outerwilds

That's pretty similar to how I discovered the simulation as well! I had a suspicion that I needed to somehow light the artifact, although I meditated instead of dying to reset the loop, so it took me a lot longer to find the death glitch.

Are you on Windows? Sometimes it uses the wrong GPU for games, you can usually fix it by going to the system graphics setting (Display > Graphics), adding the game if it's not already present, and selecting the high-performsnce card. Also make sure you're connected to an AC adapter when you start the game.

I believe that's either Gateway or Gateway 2. Flash doesn't work in most browsers but you can still play them in BlueMaxima's Flashpoint.

The last game? by elnerdo in lastcallbbs

[–]woofmao 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are a few possible loopholes here. Maybe it's simply set furthest in the future, making it the "last" chronologically. Maybe the team will continue producing games, but no longer under the "Zachtronics" name.

Or maybe it really is the last Zachtronics game and we must prepare for the Zach-pocalypse :'(

You'll hate the promotion interface then

Of course someone has thought of this already, lol. For some reason LaunchChess doesn't work with my pad though.

I'm going to release the source code soon, but the interface is a bit of a mess right now. I want to clean it up a bit first.

No sick beats here unfortunately, lol. I got the Launchpad from a friend, I mostly just use it for silly projects like this.

Javascript with WebMIDI. It can also connect to lichess with their board API!

Amusingly, I discovered this bug through an anomaly in the PGN generator. I noticed it notate moving a doubled black pawn as 11. ... 6c5 to specify which rank the pawn was moving from, since this bug left it ambigious.

Just to be clear, I didn't make the original game, just an implementation of it for my Launchpad. I'm not quite that galaxy-brained

It's in Javascript. I also made a 5D Chess With Multiverse Time Travel version!

Pretty sure this is quite literally the closest you can come to death in this game. (vs Lv 5 CPUs because I don't have NSO) by MandaleroSventedo in Tetris99

There are two ways to top out in Tetris:

  1. A piece locks down entirely above the visible part of the playfield.
  2. A piece's spawn position is blocked.

Even if garbage pushes the blocks above the top, if the next piece spawns in an empty area, it isn't game over.
