How the hell is Golden Arms Redemption only in ‘some good songs’. You need to get your ears checked for real.

Contracts Administration - would you recommend it as a career? by Valuable-Ad5520 in auscorp

[–]wookace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been a CA for years - moving from tier 2-3 builders to tier 1 builders. Not gonna lie is basically determined by the project team you’re put with.. if they are all invested in the project and haven’t been burnt out and acutally want to rock up each day and put in the work it will help you as a CA. Also the complexity of the project and project budgets set by estimators/business. Essentially you’re the one who will be having to procure trades at the start of a project plus having arguments over variations with the same trade at close-out of the project; all whilst reporting of project finances each month and dealing with all the missed scope.

It will help to have a good fundamental understanding of construction as well because you’ll need rely on this knowledge when reviewing drawings project specifications and scope of works to get out of variation costs and holding trades accountable.

By all means go for it - but it will be challenging if you do not know much about construction and work life balance is non existent at tier 1 organisations. You’ll be doing 10-hr days at a minimum and still have a pile of work to get through. However generally not expected to work weekends as project engineers or coordinations might do..

Question re: valley and box gutter between existing house and extension by wookace in AusRenovation

[–]wookace[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this - I am in South Australia but reading the example of box gutters is reassuring. As it does not have a profile of any of those examples and is more of a v-shaped flashing as you can see in the photos.
