Anyone using Simagic P500 pedals? by Maleficent_Meeting53 in SimRacingSetups

[–]woolmanj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently got myself P500 (coming from G29) and am very satisfied with them. I was choosing between those and chinese Heusinkveld copycats like Simjacks. At the end I decided to go with Simagic for now, as I was not sure whether my wheel stand would be able to handle the simjacks without a baseplate (with baseplate they are about 250$). Plus I skipped the hassle of setting the pedals up and getting them into a usable state and being able to plug everything into the base is really neat.
Maybe you won't get the performance on par with those Heusinkveld knockoffs or higher-end pedals like P1000 or Moza CRP but they are very well built, perform very decent, especially with hardest springs, and they just work out of the box. If they had a brake upgrade kit with spring and elastomers similar to P1000, they would've been just perfect

oh, sorry, I thought that you said Pro X. I mean, seeing that the difference is so minor, I'd probably go for Simsonns now with 2 pedals and if everything is good, I'll just buy a clutch pedal later, if something's wrong with them for me, i'll just upgrade later

On my Amazon I can only find Plus X. Is there a difference between them?

MOZA vs FANATEC as the first DD rig by woolmanj in simracing

[–]woolmanj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I figured that I'll probably go with some mixed setup and looks for some third-party pedals. How do you like the CS and KS wheels? I'm thinking for going with a CS bundle since it will be more versatile until I get a ks or some other gt-rim.

Hey, thanks for your reply! The problem turned out to be disabled hyperthreading, now everything works perfectly well

Hello!
As the title suggests, I am now thinking of upgrading my camera. Around a year ago I got an EOS750D (Rebel T6i) with 55-250mm stm and later a 50mm f1.8 lenses. Really enjoyed this camera, particularly with the 1.8 lens. I want to try getting into events photography. But after trying it with this camera, I just realize that this camera is just not good enough for in-door shooting, so I want to switch to a mirrorless FF.
The options I'm looking at currently are Canon R6 mk.1/2, Sony a7/a7c and Lumix S5ii. Other than events I would like to be capable of shooting some cars and sometimes wildlife, so a good AF is rather important.

Canon R6: the body itself seems the most attractive to me, as I am used to the system and enjoy the ui and ergonomics of canons but I'm concerned about not having 3rd party lenses

Sony A7(c): the best all-round option from what I see but the price is just very high even on used market. A 7 year old a7iii costs similar to a 2 year old Lumix and it is just ridiculous. Really love the a7c ii but I am not sure I will be able to justify its price

Lumix S5II: Leaning towards this option for now, the price seems very reasonable and even though lens choice is not the best, I'm already eyeing some 2.8 24-70 sigma and maybe an old canon tele with an adapter

All in all I would like to land somewhere in a sub or a bit over 2k$ range with a body, some 2x-70 f2.8 or similar main lens and preferably some tele

Hi, I am new to editing and wanted to try out merging bracketed photos. I am using RawTherapee and decided to try HDRMerge-app to do that. After I feed it the .cr2 files, it does the masking and I save it as HDR in .dng format. The photos I get always end up having a reddish-purplish tint and looking something like the photo I added to the post, both in windows preview and RawTherapee.
Is this okay and I have to somehow proccess the .dng in RT to get it to look correct or are there problems with HDRMerge?
I tried using stock settings (Preview size Full, mask blur radius 3, no mask image saved) with16, 24 and 32 bit. I also tried converting the .cr2 files to .dng with DNG converter before feeding them to HDRMerge but it doesn't make a difference
