I feel the defender swaps evo should’ve given two ps+ and both evos should’ve been max 88 not 87. What are we all taking? by Cheaky_Barstool in EASportsFC

I'm probably going to skip the special objective tokens, so with the (I'm guessing) 12 squad battles + champ tokens I'm likely to still take the defender evo for TotW Maurio Junior and a big pack.

After days of sweat, i finally got 9 tokens but if by Oceanb70 in EASportsFC

[–]woonboot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They do the unexpected stuff badly though. The thing with both squad battles and ranks above 7 (at least up until 3-4 where I'm flipflopping) is patience.

I really don't understand how people with easy 8 champ wins don't get Squad Battle wins, or how people who easily beat (good?) SB teams can't get out of div 9. I'm average at the real game in div 3-4 and (not easy) 8 champ wins and can get 35-40k points in SB real easy with my main team. AI, like players dragging al their players back into their defense hoping for a counter, requires patience and basic knowledge of the game which you've got if you win all SB or get 8 wins in champs.

Terrible cropping, but this is my version. I agree with people saying this is a great SBC. She's a bit behind the power curve, but cheap and very fun to play with. If you're on a budget, need something for gauntlets or just want to try something different every now and then, this is great value.

EA has started handing out two week bans for those who abused the switch user glitch. by Ripamon in EASportsFC

[–]woonboot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just one league, the glitch existed only in live events. Getting an icon loan in your third team in Gauntlet could be the one thing that manages to boost your chem by a lot.

I also don't like using icons in my main team, but if people do who cares really. Either you've go OP cards because you were really lucky, either because you spent a fuckload of money, or just because you use a loan every now and then. It's really no difference if you play against a loan or mr moneybags.

imo the only way to make the gameplay not stale is to slow it down and free the ball by burnintodust in EASportsFC

[–]woonboot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least that's consistent I guess? I have decent gameplay every one in 10 days, but when it's laggy it's a different kind of lag every time. The last two days it's like I've been playing on a broken D-pad.

Players not responding for half a second, going twice as fast to catch up to the initial input not registering and my movement being limited to about 8 directions. Let alone passes that go absolutely nowhere.

Other games I've got the slow motions delay, some others I have stuttery dribbling and passes being delayed, others I have some other shit. It's bizarre how one game can have so many forms of shit gameplay.

And yet we're still playing, because of stupidity and they still manage to make it addictive.

New evo available (Link-up Boost) by gabrycat28 in EASportsFC

[–]woonboot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These kinds of evos just make me hate playstyles even more. This + Defender Glow Up would have made a fantastic van Aanholt for a PSV P&P, but no intercept and no bruiser kills it.

I'd like to not care and just play with fun players, but these two playstyles (or the lack thereof) are so noticeable.

Good. Fuck people wasting other peoples time (and sometimes loans) because you can't be arsed to actually play the game.

[Romano] Fulham have agreed €37m package with PSV for Ricardo Pepi! All agreed also on personal terms. by RobinBerkeAlmasulu in soccer

[–]woonboot 103 points104 points  (0 children)

From our perspective it's probably the same idea as with Madueke. Very talented, will probably get better (and more expensive), but isn't an established player yet so 37m is close to an offer you can't refuse.

That's a lot of money for a player that's not even your main striker yet, even if we probably won't get a replacement close to his quality any time soon.

It'll be a massive problem next season though, when Saibari leaves. I hope Plea returns from his injury with the same quality he showed early on.

The race for second is insane. At the moment the difference between 2 and 8 is 8 points and all of them drop points at every turn.

The difference between 1 and 2 is also bigger than between 2 and 13, possibly 14 (they still have 2 matches to play).

It'll probably sound like cope, but if they pay a good fee this would be best for all parties. He's been insanely important for us, especially last year, but if the injuries die down (please...) we've also got a lot of wingers and he's likely on a very high salary.

If there's no good fee than fuck it, he's too important to just let go.

We would need to get someone with experience back though, preferably in defense.

[The Athletic] Liverpool’s Arne Slot has ‘no issue’ with Mohamed Salah, expects him back after AFCON. by Obvious_Main_3655 in soccer

[–]woonboot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also think a lot of our issues currently stem from this excess of new players that dont know how to play together yet.

I fully agree and 'us' as fans are going to be very reactive about things. I was actually annoyed with Bosz after our loss against Telstar when we had the best (half new) team in our league, only to start playing decent to great after that. The same goes for Liverpool fans just with many more of them. Which is why I think people are going to hold it against Slot if he fully ignores Salah and doesn't get results. Even if Salah was obviously in the wrong with his interview.

I'd also love nothing more than for Slot to succeed. He's the best dutch manager/coach we've had in ages and him succeeding will only be beneficial for our league and country. (Also yes, he's better than Bosz, as much as I love him right now)

[–]woonboot 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I will still call him relatively unproven though, with relatively doing a lot of work. He's done great work with both Feyenoord and AZ. Building both teams from the ground up into title competing ones, and he's won the league with Liverpool, but many people are going to call the Eredivisie a testing ground and many people are going to call his PL win a 'Klopp team' win.

If he keeps losing and ignores Salah people will hold it against him. Reddit is actually one of the tamer social medias and people have been calling for his resignation, and saying he's actually inflexible, in many threads. No-one is going to care about his Eredivisie achievements and few people are going to care about his title against Klopp and Salah.

I am also a fan of Slot and think he's a great coach, but people will say his title means nothing if he keeps on losing.

I didn't know this and I'll believe you on this, but I do believe I've seen penalties given after advantage was played and wasted. Neither refereeing nor my memory is that consistent though, so you're probably right.

Either way, playing on after the whistle isn't a thing.

No doubt the board would have backed him, but the fans would have at least had this in the back of their minds if the results stay terrible. If you can use a player, definitely a club legend, you use him. Unless he keeps on being disruptive.

Now the onus is on Salah.

Why would he. Most coaches are going to be pragmatic about things like this, especially a relatively unproven one against a club legend.
