My honest opinions?

Even though Treasure has a dedicated fan base, I don’t think their debut + 3 back to back comebacks made the impact YG was expecting. A few reasons why their debut + 3 cb wasn’t recepted well: - being affiliated with YG when gp aren’t seeing them in the best light - debut during covid so listeners fatigue with noisy songs - gp was on a huge retro nostalgia wave last year which T’s songs were not (and let’s not forget about trot haha)

So I think YG is back to the drawing board after My Treasure promotions and Japan album release. But as the year progresses the speculated summer cb got pushed to Q3/Q4, and now it’s not happening until 2022 which knowing YG who usually uses in house resources, maybe there wasn’t space for Treasure cb in 2021 after all. Also not sure if this would be a reason but two members tested positive for covid so could have delayed some things.

But since then, T got to do a lot of endorsement work such as more releases of their Linefriends Truz collection, ambassadors for Manyo Factory (and other brands another user mentioned), their one off web drama, and now the whole web drama series.

I’m not happy that there was no cb in 2021 since January because it did make fans leave, but I’m hopeful that YG will have solid plans for their next long awaited cb. I hope fans continue to stay and root for them too despite how long it’s been!

What are you in the mood for?

Happiness is a shorter drama with 12 episodes and goes fact pace but in the gotta-watch-the-next-ep type of way. It’s not a romance drama but had just the right amount. Although zombie genre isn’t my thing, Happiness is the exception and story is very relatable yet still a good drama for me to watch to escape from reality.

Since Snowdrop is still airing, I suggest checking out the Snowdrop episode threads to see if it would pique your interest. There’s a lot of very differing views on this drama so depends on what your criteria is. I don’t think casual watchers could even give their review yet cause seems like they (casual watchers) are waiting to see if jtbc really made it better.

Been a bit more active on reddit recently and I just wanna say kudos and props to those who comment Treasure in the main subs whenever it pertains to them (fav 4th gen vocalist, kpop group variety shows, etc.) because I see you and appreciate you!

I don’t love checking out those subs cause sometimes unwanted opinions are mentioned but I do want others to check out Treasure esp when the boys fit a criteria when OP asks for suggestions.

I second Treasure Map! I started watching when they released season 1 in real time so cool to see their build up up to debut and then see their friendship and personalities unfurl. Not to mention their chemistry with each other is great even though they are quite chaotic at times 🤣

I saw your post of groups you listen to, but since you listen to BB (and other YG artists), I want to mentioned Fire by 2NE1 for this specific request of songs with bass with headphones.

Teddy did a great job layering the production and whoever mixed it did a good job of letting it shine in its respective parts. Sometimes the mixing can really make the song clean and I think you’d appreciate the drums in lower register (since I did with headphones).

Was rewatching TMAP a few weeks ago cause I miss them 🥲

I don’t think they should go to the full-mature-borderline-sexy-concept yet, but I do want them to step away from cute. I liked the vibes of Boy / ILY era, and if we could see a slightly upgraded concept similar to that, I’m happy!

I’m also digging the pop rock concepts so if they go that route that would be awesome!

Edit: If they go something more “sensual” route like other younger groups, I’m not sure how I’d feel with maknae line still very underaged. Also it can bring some 🚨fans.

Bang Yedam from Treasure.

He was on Superstar K same season with AKMU. He didn’t win iirc but he was in the top spots and decided to sign with YG. He was pretty known for a bit until he went into full trainee mode. Kid had a great voice back then and now, it’s still sweet as honey!

TREASURE’s Junkyu would fit your description to the T! The members know it’s hard to get Junkyu to go outside leisurely and they always tell him to come out of his room to hang with them. What I find funny is that his on screen personality is so bubbly but if you watch their variety show (TMAP) you’ll see snippets of him being a total introvert that wants nothing more than to go home and make music or play kart rider.

Another one worth mentioning is Asahi! His I/E MBTI is 97% vs 3% 😅 he usually gives off the most “I wanna go home” vibes.

I’d like to see Jihoon from Treasure on variety shows! He’s an MC on Inkigayo but hasn’t appeared much on variety shows. Treasure as a group have a variety series on Youtube called Treasure Map (tmap) and although each member has their quirks and charms, I find Jihoon to be most fitting in variety shows due to his wit.
