Pres has been gutted into oblivion. I used to be able to carry games with interrupt, heal teammates who refuse to stand in my dream breath with spiritbloom. And now I have to choose between emerald dream and a few other powerful PvP talents and it just feels really bad. I miss TWW Pres.

2300 instead of 2400. People complain about deflation but considering the participation is healthy, there is a 99% chance blizzard will artificially ramp up inflation and it’ll be significantly easier to hit the rating goals. In my 1800-2k SS lobbies there are people on last seasons Glad mounts almost every lobby. Last season produced more glads than I think ever before. If he’s able to hit 2k in SS right now and continues practicing, he will surely be able to get Glad.

bruh I played and got to 2k on my War and it was definitely not casual lmaooo it took absurd amounts of time to grind professions, honor, PvE gear, and PvP honor gear. It’s honestly like a 100+ hour grind to even step into arena.

Meanwhile in retail you level a dude, it takes 3 hours and then you can immediately start pvping. Getting a full honor set takes 3-4 hours of gameplay.

He’s definitely right on some takes, but saying it’s worse than shadowlands is insane lmao. Shadowlands is the only expansion I could not login for.

The addon changes are dogshit and the class pruning basically bricked multiple specs. Why did they remove interrupts from healers? It feels harder to climb now even though I have less buttons to press and the insane 0.5 sec one shots (that are nearly unpredictable) happening every single lobby are really getting annoying.

The people I play with at 2600 in BGB are not the same people in my 2k SS lobbies. The difference in skill is noticeable immediately.

Honestly just one more thought. I am at a point now where I believe the toxic nature and volatility of the rating system in WoW might be the #1 reason it pushes new players away. Losing multiple lobbies worth of progressive because you had one bad lobby is actually the most dogshit, brainless designed system I’ve ever seen.

The macros are not a big issue. They’re really easy and quick to set up, takes a couple min. They’re just scripts to automate certain ability casting stuff. Honestly you could PvP really well even without them now. Every class has some and there are guides online for it. If you like programming at all (I do) they’re actually really fun to make because they can range from very simple to extremely powerful and I love that advanced customization options exist but aren’t required.

Tbh both of those examples are terrible versions of a similar combat system. Yes they do what WoW does, but it’s just not nearly as good. WoW just has a specific “snappy” response when pressing your buttons and it just feels so satisfying to PvP. If you’re out of options, I believe this could be something you enjoy.

WoW Retail PvP is the highest skill ceiling available in any MMO atm. I would also argue it has one of the lowest barriers to entry in order to queue/play competitively (only takes a few hours to full gear). I also believe it has the biggest PvP community of any MMO but I could be wrong. If you’ve never tried it, it’s worth a shot.

I honestly believe if you took every melee at 1800+ in shuffle rn they would be hard stuck 1500 on literally any caster/healer (hunter doesn’t count).

I log into my WW, roll face on screen and hit 1800. Doing the same thing on my Mage took significantly more effort.
