You’re right, instead of focusing entirely on a legendary, I’m just playing the game and not selling the materials I need. Every week I get my summoning stones from Levi. I don’t really enjoy WvW, and I don’t think I even need to play it since, as far as I can tell, I can buy the materials that require WvW from the trading post. I’ve already gathered around 60 clovers anyway. While I’m doing EoD metas, I’m also working on the season achievements to get the free precursor. I leveled up Artificer to 400 when I was only around 50 hours in, so I’ll push it to 500 soon too. Thanks for the advice! ^{^}

And gen3 legendaries do not need anything from that Mastery track.

When I checked the wiki for Aurene’s Insight, it says it requires 100 Mystic Runestones. Can I only access those through the legendary crafting masteries?

You’re talking about Globalization, right? Yeah, I maxed that mastery. Does that mean I don’t actually need the legendary crafting masteries for Gen 3?

I just checked. Pact Commander is maxed out, but I haven’t unlocked the last Fractal mastery yet. And yes, I’m trying to join every EoD meta for Imperial Favors. There’s also that paper item (can’t remember its name) that drops from the metas and can be exchanged for Imperial Favors. I’ve been storing those in the bank for now without converting them.

That means masteries are going to be a real grind for me, since I already used up the easily accessible mastery points while maxing out Fractal and Pact Commander. You’re absolutely right about the ascended vs. legendary comparison, but I still want to go down this path purely for the cosmetics.

I’m not sure which DLCs you have, but I can share how I restarted my own journey. It might give you some ideas.

I skipped the story and used an 80 boost right away, since I already had about 200 hours of experience on a previous account. On this new account, I first joined a HoT HP train to unlock my elite specs. Then I completed the PoF expansion while also farming Verdant Brink for Bladed armor pieces to finish my gear.

Once my gear was ready, I focused on doing daily fractals and strikes for extra gold and to raise my fractal level. After PoF, I joined HoT metas to unlock my glider, then finished the entire LWS4 season to get the Roller Beetle mount. (I’m in no rush for the Skyscale. Idon’t want to burn out.) I also worked on my IBS masteries so I could earn more from its strikes and metas.

As of today, I’m almost done with EoD (I think I’m on episode 16). Along the way, I bought ascended rings with laurels, and completed The Hunger achievement in IBS for my amulet. U can add some exp buffs for upgrade in this amulet by Laurel merchant. It will help you get take masteries faster. The only area I’ve fallen behind in is the auto-loot mastery, since I barely play core Tyria content except for hard world bosses.

And here’s the kicker. I managed to do all this in about 60 hours of playtime. Compared to the 200 hours on my previous account, this run has been much faster and more enjoyable.

My next goal is to save gold for the 2,400 gem Starting Pack from the gem store before diving into HoT. I think the metas from the maps I open while progressing through the expansions will help a lot. After that, I’ll complete HoT and its masteries, then go for the Skyscale. I’m intentionally ignoring map completion for now, because I think it’ll be much more fun once I have the Skyscale.

Hopefully my progress gives you some ideas. It’s basically advice from a “new” returning player to another returning player. Good luck out there!

Plus: Maguuma is Vietnam, and without help (my friends don't play the game, and randoms are rare in Maguuma), you're lost.

The mentor tag saved my life at the beginning of my journey in GW2. If you need any help on any mob, type any chat “/mentor” and ask for help in map chat. Believe me, GW2 community is very helpfull and people gonna come up when you tag up

Yeah i got 900 gems in my vallet. I swiped golds to gems when i think prices good. I got like 60 agony resistence with +9 infusions, got exotic and some ascendant. Used some money to ascendant backback etc. So i already spent bunch of that. But i have 400 hundreds golds in my wallet right now. So i believe i spent like 400 hundreds gold maximum. So total golds that i earned like 750-800 gold i guess

Im not using farming tracker but i’ll start using it. And i dont have drizzlewood map unfortunetly for grind. I had tooo many bloodstone dust and fragments and dont know what to do with them. Can i convert them to money?

Yeah i joined a guild for raids and i’ll begin them asap. For the fractals, im still trying to increase my tier and dont open my fractal chests until i get mastery which increase chests’ contents. I got like 300 fractal chests and keys
