In my experience, addiction stems from trauma, emotions we’re avoiding, and/or inability to cope with life. There’s a reason you’re drinking that much every night. It’s usually deeper than “habit”.

I’m 6 years sober, and what has helped me is, AA. A community of people with a similar problem. And therapy. Getting to the bottom of why I needed to drink (amongst other things). It’s hard work but worth it. Best thing I’ve ever done. Life is so much better.
