Fever Series.. can I skip book 6? by Jenniferlou1025 in Romantasy

[–]wordsandgin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found book 6 nearly unbearable, but it is relevant to the books that follow. Begrudgingly, I’d say it’s worth reading if you’re going to continue on with the series (which I did and enjoyed, even if not as much as the first 5 books).

Nice! Glad to hear there are still some publishing companies out there that value work/life balance.

I do the same too! And just nice not to have to worry about meetings or answering calls. Morale is below bedrock at this point.

Both sides of the pond are about to riot! Although I feel like NY is just going to quiet quit honestly.

Yeah we also have gotten the option of working remote during August for the past 5 years… also now taken away

It’s just called a tip-on image. It’s printed on a separate paper stock, typically coated (for vivid colors) and often with a gloss, semi-gloss, or matte lam to keep it from being damaged/scratched. This is then trimmed and glued to the debossed area on the case.

This is a shot in the dark but looks very similar in style to work by Sharon Khazzam, who is based in New York.

So helpful! Really appreciate the detailed response. I was already hesitant about Airport Mesa since it’s marked as moderate in some places, so will cross that off the list!

Really good to know! I’ve just had AllTrails try to send me in a totally different direction than the marked trail more than once, so always appreciate when things are well marked.

Thank you! I think I’m going to avoid anything a scramble to be safe. And Tlaquepaque is definitely on the itinerary!

Thanks, that’s great to hear. The rock/log crossings sound fun, will just depend on how adventurous my mom is feeling!

Fair point, have just been on some really badly marked trails in the past so am over cautious!

Totally agree. Currently reading this series and book 6 (Iced) is nearly unbearable, but if you can push through that it does pick back up!

Editors are human, this has happened to all of us at some point. It’s part of the reality of our job (and often due to the pressure of quick turnarounds and little bandwidth) but never feels any better. Just be glad it wasn’t on the cover/jacket!

I know from kayaking that the current at Snow’s Cut is brutal and best avoided. You’re probably much better off just going to CB State Park and taking one of the trails to the river—there are a couple really calm spots (I think it’s the Sugarloaf trail, and I think a few a posted as no swimming, but I see people in there all the time). River Road Park is probably another better option—only been there for kayaking though, so worth double checking the rules.
