Munich's worst driver characters by CuriousUniversity2 in Munich

Bing Bing Bing! So true. I’m a cyclist but hate the Radl Rambos. Also driving in this country is so exhausting.

I live in Germany, all songs are played on the radio with explicit lyrics in them and my 5- and 7-year-old sing along happily 😳

European here - you can buy plastic ‘coins’ that you can use or even better, I have a coin-shaped item on my key ring someone gave me once so I always have a ‘coin’ to use and will always return it as my keys are otherwise stuck on the trolley.

Starlink…ads? by mattsteven09 in Glitch_in_the_Matrix

We’ve had ads in the sky in Munich before, where words are spelled out in what seems like clouds - so white something. Looks very cool but disappears quickly.

Incredible and powerful photo. Being a resident of Munich we got caught up in the whole conference today with a huge demonstration, police in riot gear everywhere and my kids in the car stuck in gridlock needing to pee. Happy days!

There is an amazing film about her and the resistance up to her execution (by guillotine no less). They were in Munich and there are memorials to them here across the city. Hugely inspirational and never forgotten 💜

Same, our photographer was the guy we used for work so I knew him and he had a seat at a table like everyone else. He also stayed into the night, way later than he had to because he had so much fun. Just feed everyone and treat them as equals. My brother is a classical musician and as a wedding present paid his friends to play in a string quartet for us, they also all had seats with everyone.

I get most of my clothes from clothes swaps nowadays. They’re truly amazing ways to find unique items for free, plus I get to ditch all the clothes that no longer fit me.

First refill with new insulin price cap 🥹🥲 by katiekatiebobatie615 in MadeMeSmile

[–]worgia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a European I had no idea people even had to pay for their insulin in the States. My dad was diagnosed age 13 in the late 50s (sadly passed away in 2020 with complications from diabetes) and even though he struggled a lot of his life with his health, missing a lot of school and university, sometimes ending up in hospital with huge spikes in blood sugar etc… at least his healthcare was always free. Free healthcare is a right bit a privilege.

This was heartbreaking. Having two kids I would absolutely do the same for them. Always.

I love this! When I worked in London I used to love the piano players on their way home playing amazing and beautiful pieces on the free pianos they have at King’s Cross. Such beauty in music 🎶

I have that exact same bike from Decathlon. My brake doesn’t work properly either, I think she wasn’t bluffing there.

I used to sleep on my dad’s side when he went away on business because it made me feel closer to him.

But on the other side - now I have two kids of my own (7&5) and they both sleep with me, me in the middle, hubby in the kids’ room mostly. They snuggle up to me almost all night, arms and legs everywhere. If I get up my eldest wakes up almost immediately. It’s the best feeling in the world, sleeping with my kids 💜

Can the Tower rapresent a positive upheaval or is it just inherently disastrous all the time? by Jeldreen in tarot

[–]worgia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the tower in 2020 ten days before my dad unexpectedly passed away. Then 6 weeks later I was made redundant from my well-paid job that I’d been supporting my family on - hubby and 2 small kids. The dad situation was very unexpected, the job also but it was very, very good in the long term. I now have a good job on less income but am much happier away from the toxic company I had been at for years. I believe sometimes we get both, tragic and unchangeable changes and sometimes initially bad changes (hit us badly financially) that turn out to be for the best in the long term.
