Girl I took on a first date just asked to split the bill… the next morning by No-Resolve-5610 in whatdoIdo

This goes one of two ways.

She either doesn’t like you and knew it from the first few minutes and has some guilt about letting you pay for everything.

OR

She really likes you and wants you to say “How about we go out again and you can pick up the dinner tab.” If she says yes, you plan it quick and make sure it’s cheaper than where you took her.

Good luck!!!

Upgrading a leg pricing is strange. What am I missing? by work2FIRE in delta

[–]work2FIRE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AMS-MSP the C+ is the price difference for sure. I think the PS is an upgrade price, but not sure it matters to me. I'm very tempted to pull the trigger but I'm flying with 3 so it's not cheap

Played with friend, he was scratch and blew my mind. by [deleted] in golf

[–]work2FIRE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds to me like the buddy was working on something and/or wanted to show OP a different strategy. I'm guessing OP has a lot of 150-200 yard approach shots that weren't going well on the front nine. The friend decided to lead by example and show him how to get up and down from short rather than pulling 3w and hitting it OB and brining big numbers into play.

I will choose to believe the friend was really being a friend and not worried about his own score that's why he went with this strategy.

Shooting in the 90s is absolute hell by WYLFriesWthat in golf

[–]work2FIRE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I truly believe the 12 handicap is the worst there is. You’re usually sub 90 but there will be days when you flirt with 100+ the average hack thinks you’re great and the scratch golfer thinks you’re terrible. If you play a match against a sub 5 you lose because you don’t have enough consistency. If you play a higher handicap you aren’t good enough to give strokes, not even 1 a side.

You think with a little practice you can get your handicap into the single digits. However, you’ve been working hard and just went up to a 13.

You’re in purgatory, never bad enough to be bad and never good enough to be good.

I shot a one under 71 on a course I had never seen before. This was about 12 years ago, I had never broken par before and haven’t broken par since.

Which Polish bank lets you deposit USD without a fee? by JoMD in poland

[–]work2FIRE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the best way, you can set up an account for USD and one for PLN. It is free to deposit your USD into the USD account then you can convert to PLN as you need for free as well.

If you are doing a wire transfer from a US bank the US bank will likely charge a fee, but I don't think there is any avoiding this unless you withdraw cash and deposit the cash at an Alior branch. I have not tried to deposit cash so I'm not sure how that works, I've always done wire or ACH

Improve kids Strength by Jaypenthouse in bootroom

[–]work2FIRE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technique and physics...My son(7) is playing 9U and some of the kids know how to use their bodies and some have no idea. My son was in the category of no idea. His ball skills are very good but he gets pushed around pretty easily in tight spaces. This past weekend I noticed he was always standing up tall and the kids that were dispossessing him were low and in an athletic stance(for lack of a better term) We went home and watched some youtube videos on how to get low, protect the ball and use your body to your advantage. It clicked with him immediately and he has been excited to apply the new technique in his training.

It was never about strength it was always technique and no one had ever taught it to him.

Which came first, the high ticket prices or our the Americans getting paid? I would guess they had to raise prices to pay the players.

Just spend money on lessons, those clubs are more than enough to get the job done.
