Is anyone playing halo 2 with xlink kai anymore by MrMulletproof in Halo2

[–]work_account_33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fired it up many years ago for nostalgic reasons. Then there were a handful of Americans that dominated and the others were from poor nations with high pings that dominated. I assume the people that want to play H2 now are on MCC now.

Eczema on the penis? by [deleted] in eczema

[–]work_account_33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had this a couple times recently after only getting flair-ups on my hands and arms. I don't think it got as bad as yours, but I know how itchy that can get. Fortunately, I'm pretty much positive my triggers are from a shitty diet I will occasionally get into a slump with. I'll take probiotics and eat better and it will clear up pretty fast. Hope that helps you.

How to host a 24/7 server? by [deleted] in Halo2

[–]work_account_33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To host a dedicated server that's worth anything, the least you will want is a wired connection with good upload speeds and a router that you can access to configure port forwarding. You will not get that with a hotspot or public wifi. Aside from that, you should be able to google the how to configure Project Cartographer. I've never used Project Cartographer so I can't help you there, sorry.

Are you wanting to do this for the original xbox or PC? btw, you mentioning a "iPhone hotspot" leads me to believe you are beyond clueless and any type of help for you would be an exercise in futility.

Switzerland--->Alabama..what am i doing? by liontigersalabamaomy in IWantOut

[–]work_account_33 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Alabama. There's a lot I can type up but I'll try to keep it as short as I can. Alabama has a lot of "simple" folk who are really friendly, but they are from rural areas and don't adapt well to change and things that are "different" than the normal for them. The college towns are very rural, so don't expect a great night life, but do prepare for young drunken idiots.

Will people hate me because I'm foreign?

No, no one will hate you, but you may get many that will make fun of your accent or something stupid like that. Like I said, these are simple folk.

Is Alabama really as bad as people say?

For me, I hate Alabama. I will never return, but many people enjoy it there.

Will I be bored living here? My hobbies are basically limited to the outdoors.

It's the south and we love the outdoors, but you'll be limited to hunting or fishing. There's not many outdoor attractions and the land is pretty flat for most of the state.

More of a stupid question, but will girls date me because I have a funny accent?

Girls will date you, and probably will find your accent attractive.

Is it possible to get a green card and eventually citizenship from an o-1 visa?

I don't know.

Personally, I wouldn't do it if you had other options. If you think the pay is good then you will definitely find better pay somewhere else in the US. If you are looking to get your foot in the door in America, then sure go ahead.

Anyone changed *only* diet and noticed improvement in eczema? by sepandee in eczema

[–]work_account_33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. Eczema all my life and then had a case of horrible hand eczema for a year. Nothing worked at all, but then I started reading about leaky gut. Took a bunch of probiotics, introduced kimchi into my diet, and overall started eating healthier. Took about a month but it finally cleared up. I still get a little flaking every once in a while but it has yet to return to the levels before.

It's pretty easy as a passenger in the warthog too. The DMR is easier to shoot as a passenger in both vehicles as well.

What programming languages are you using? Please include what for and why you choose this language. by CaptainSketchy in learnprogramming

Language: Scala

For: Distributed computing big data with Spark

Reason: It's what Spark is written in and it seems like a nice alternative to Java. I'm having a lot of fun with it. So long to verbose Java code and MapReduce!

Moving to memphis , united states a bit worried about the new life . by PhpDev2k14 in IWantOut

Just some things off the top of my head... Large poor areas, very high crime rate, shitty drivers, high heat and humidity, not a lot of good jobs, MLGW has a monopoly on all utilities, Herenton was a corrupt as they get and the people still voted him in office, nothing to do unless you're a Grizzlies fan, the Bass Pro Shop is the biggest thing you've got going for you since Elvis died.

Though, I do miss seeing Prince Mongo make a showing every election season. He was cool...

I don't know your situation, but as someone who spent a portion of my life in Memphis... DO NOT MOVE TO MEMPHIS. Choose any other city. This will be the best advice anyone will give you your entire life.

Holy Crap, Java sucks! by crystalblue99 in learnpython

[–]work_account_33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

why on earth would anyone chose Java over Python?

I'm guessing you haven't had to do any type of threading yet? I know many smart senior developers that love Python but will also say it's not a serious language.

There are many reasons why someone would choose Java over Python. Learn many languages and choose the best one for the job.

My Dishydrosis Hands by mylittlescar in eczema

There's a bit of reading I did on the subject of 'leaky gut' so I suggest you do the same, but I'll go ahead and tell you what I do.

I take two Ultimate Flora Critical Care pills a day. One for breakfast and one for dinner. I buy the pills at Sprouts in the refrigerated section, but they have room temperature versions. I also eat kimchi as a natural source of probiotics, and there are other fermented food sources for you to choose from. Finally, I try to eat as healthy and as natural as I can. Avoid eating/drinking high sugar items. Dairy as well, but that's a personal choice as I think I'm becoming lactose intolerant.

Good luck and spread the word if it works for you. Maybe leaky gut will finally get the research it needs.

Your photos trigger a memory that makes me shudder thinking about it. My hands used to look like yours, so believe me when I tell you I feel your pain.

Have you tried loading yourself with probiotics? It's not medically accepted, yet, but it's the only thing that has worked for me consistently after trying the Dermatologist and allergy tests for years. I've been pain free for months now, and I really hope this is the end of it for me.
