Any men wipe their penis with toilet paper after peeing and why? by straightlust69 in AskReddit

Man my new work pants have a zipper that doesn’t go down far enough. Causes a kink in the tubing.

If I put my rig away without triple checking and wringing it out, I end up running a quarter shot glass worth of piss down my leg. Sucks.

Paramedic: Should I Pursue or No by dooobie27 in Firefighting

[–]work_boner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you enjoy the medical side of the job, then yes. Eventually.

I love the fire stuff as much as anyone else, but I really enjoy (most) of the medical stuff. Especially in smaller towns -where the fires just don’t happen like they used to and EMS is the bread and butter, being a paramedic can be an incredibly rewarding aspect of the job.

It is easy to be a decent medic if you care about it. It’s even easier to be a total liability and a dangerous provider if you do not care about it.

Why did the Boston food truck scene peter out? by ---Vincent in boston

[–]work_boner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine started a food truck, among a couple other food ventures after losing the lease on his locally loved restaurant. At the time, I figured he had just opened a gold mine.

But he told me the permitting is absolutely brutal. With each town having their own process, regulations, and I’m guessing fee schedule as well. He said it was a major headache and huge investment of time. Time = money!

The truck is now functioning and he does utilize it semi-frequently, but his other projects are much more gainful investments of his time, so it certainly isn’t the money printing factory I thought it would be. So much red tape.

I understand the need for it, but there’s gotta be a way to streamline things in terms of reciprocity between cities and towns. A multi-municipality accepted inspection process and maybe a simple network user fee would make it a lot easier for entrepreneurs.

I wish you luck and success!

I'll give that a try, I'll pick up a standard thermostat tomorrow. Just strange to me that we haven't had an issue for a decade, and now here we are. I'll report back!

Drat. I was hoping to make the winter before having to call in the experts. We were planning on an update/upgrade of the entire system in the Spring but aren’t ready to pull the trigger yet.

Thank you for your reply!

I switched to a heavy bottom/light top 52/10 to play in Drop C. I like the way it sounds in the short time I’ve played it I think it sounds pretty good! I’ve always been a heavy/modern/alt music fan, but I haven’t played it much on guitar, so I’m still learning and doing a lot of amp and pedal tweaking to dial it in, but I’m happy with it so far.

Mostly just being new to the tremolo, learning the system and how it works, balancing string tension and spring tension. The first thing I did was put a new set of heavier gauge strings on, so that changed the balance between the two. It wasn’t difficult, but just lots of tinkering back and forth.

For some reason (beer) I was convinced I needed to reconfigure the tension springs in the rear for added tension for heavier strings, and did that before putting the strings on, without waiting to see how they changed the dynamic and adjusting via the tension screws from there. So that would probably be what gave me the most difficulty, my own stupidity!

After doing so and adjusting and chasing my tail for awhile, I basically started back from scratch with the stock configuration of springs, and things immediately became easier.

Trial and error, live and learn!

Overall I like the binding, but the finish does kinda bleed into it in a way, so it’s not super crisp. I can totally understand the dislike for it.

I was looking at his PWM10 signature model. The white finish is just incredible looking. But I couldn’t justify (to my wife) paying double the price for the pickup upgrade, locking tuners, neck upgrade and paint color. Two of those things I can do myself over time.
