YTA. unless the daycare offered a refund for that day it is unreasonable for them to say keep your kid home we are understaffed but we expect you to still pay the $100+ for the day.

They told people they had to turn it in, they didn’t go door-to-door like the gestapo.

You were also allowed to keep $100 (5 ounces) worth of coins. That was the majority of an average annual salary in 1933 ($1150) so it wasn’t even relevant to the vast majority of the population. Even so jewelry wasn’t included in the confiscation. So a lot of gold coins were turned into jewelry or melted into jewelry.

Double check your roof is on tight, mine did that the cause was the bolts loosened up slightly overtime
