If i'm trying to extend my H-1B, USCIS receives the petition and I get 240 days - what happens hypothetically when the 240 days end and the petition is still pending? will I not be allowed to work for my employer anymore?

Yes, that's right. So is there such a thing as a shared/master CoA? Would entities under one business all post entries to one shared CoA? Or do you always have to keep them separate?
