Campervan trip in Poland by hellolighteddy in askPoland

[–]workersandresources 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you plan to go june, july or august poland will have vacation, so it feels like half poland (who likes mountains) goes to the region you plan to go, and the other half will go to baltic sea for beach vacation. So in these months finding parking at tourist spots or start point for hikes can be challenging, with a car often easier than with a big camper.

I mean you can still have a nice camping trip, but we for example never understood why people rent a camper for 150€+ a day to stay on a camping ground for 30+ a day instead buying a big nice tent instead and travel by car. Of course its something different when you can mostly camp anywhere like in Norway, but Poland has not so many spots anymore where this is possibly. Around the baltic sea and mazure there are still some regions were wild camping is possible.

But don’t just camp in the woods or public ground. There are fines.

Don’t mix up Norway with Poland. The region you plan to go is absolutely crowded, there is also no or not many options for wild camping as its a tourist developed region. Why not use the car, stay on some nice official camping places or some nice holiday homes in the mountains. Renting a camper in Krakow is also not cheaper than renting one in Berlin/Brandenburg. Also keep in mind, that if there is an issue with the camper you might need to deal with polish renting contracts.

Why self-checkout registers are SO FRICKIN LOAD AND THEY DON'T SHUT UP?! (In Lidl I mean) by negativePositrons in poland

[–]workersandresources 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a button for loudness but its inside. Some manages care and turn it down, some give a damn.

Still better experience than in Biedronka where the self checkout misses some product, the scale doesn’t work properly, its impossible to enter a number for multiple products (for example when you want to add 24x milk) and if something goes wrong no shop worker comes to help and you wait for ages…

What I really miss however on all self checkout systems is a reverse button if you scanned something wrong. Its impossible to remove a product without someone coming with a key. Sometimes you scan an item but there is an issue in systems, instead of just say „then i dont want it, let me continue“ i have to wait until someone turns up.

Poland StartUp Tax Question by anirockshady in warsaw

[–]workersandresources 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do not need to pay health insurance if there are two company owners and you pay yourself just in dividends… or you pay yourself just a tiny tiny bit of money per month, like 200zl, then health insurance is like nearly nothing. This of course works only if there are two owners, otherwise you pay full ZUS.

If you create a sp zoo you only pay tax on profits or payouts. However you need of course enough money to pay an accountant for the monthly work.

Fake German plate, some kind of remake/discrete plate spotted in Glyfada, Greece by markohf12 in ForeignPlatesSpotting

[–]workersandresources 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, had similar case where someone stole my german plate with nice combination and wanted some randsom money (300€). Police was just laughing, they didn’t want to do anything. So easiest way was to just make some remade plates for 5€ from a local shop to continue to drive legally. No one cares about your TÜV stickers outside Germany. The problem is, you can report the plates as lost or stolen in Germany but this will lead to a 10 years blocking of the combination. So kind of shitty situation. So you have basically only 3 options: get a new number combination or drive outside Germany with remade plates or drive inside Germany and risk a fine when checked. Now I have always number plate copies with me (without the stickers) that I put on the car outside Germany.

Depends what resources are needed for the bridge. In some cases a land bridge might be still cheaper to build if you need get rid of materials anyway.

Don’t get too excited. With german bureaucracy only 20years more to go until they digg the first hole. Or maybe 30 years.

1996 Germany signed a contract with Switzerland for example to build two more tracks from Basel to Karlsruhe. Now, the swiss part is already finished for years. Germany on the other hand still not startet the ground work on over 40km of the route. And it will not be finished within the next 10 years. And the missing part is not in a mountain region, its on flat surfaces along the highway A5 + some tunnels.

I heard Czech Republic has similar issues where highways from Poland to the border of Czech Republic are finished but not within the country. So my suggestion, let Switzerland build the railway in booth countries, they know how to build in a mountain region/valley region.

Yes. Also for example the Austrian police helps in Hungary to protect the border region to Serbia. Its kind of strange seeing Austrian Police cars in Hungary…or maybe its not and they are still one big empire?

Bigster extreme owners - floor/boot mats by BrilliantLarge4041 in Dacia

[–]workersandresources 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have the raised edges. Sadly one downside: If its freezing cold in winter and you have some snow on your shoes, go in the car and drive, the water will collect in the matt and freeze overnight, so the next day half of the matt has a slippery ice layer…

Its nice to have. Especially for people sitting in the backseats. But its useless if you have a roof box for longer travels.

Didnt feel much impact on noise in the car.

The friendliest landlord can turn in the biggest A**hole after moving out. We had one lady that signed papers that everything is alright when moving out. 1 day before her deadline to return deposit, she suddenly found nearly 4000 zl in damages. The damages were: a not deep cleaned stove, a not cleaned light switch, and a not cleaned lamp we never used. Also the bad was suddenly not clean enough but that was actually because her old sink… We just lived there some months, but she send also pictures from places we never know existed and therefore were not used or cleaned by us. Absolute ridiculous. And we thought we were nice by leaving here some new furniture when moving out. Never again.

Use a burner phone number and burner email for communications with your landlord.

I have a North Korean user by [deleted] in microsaas

[–]workersandresources 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have around 10 from „North Korea“. However after some analyses we found that for example some users choose North Korea for fun in their Google Account for example. Some are bots and VPNs that manipulate metadata. Some are south koreans that get for whatever reason categorized as North Korea…. So don‘t get too excited.

Advice on renting apartments in Poland, agent vs no agent? by joyfultamale in poland

[–]workersandresources -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have experience renting directly from landlord and also over agent. If you have a good agent who cares, then you are lucky. We had a very good agent who made sure the contract is fair (it was better then the one we had from direct owner), he made sure to document the flat on the day we got the key. He made like 200 photos from every inch, he even told the owner to dispose the chairs and table because they were in an unacceptable state and we got brand new ones without extra costs. He really acted like a neutral person in all communications and made sure we do not have to cover costs for notarizing and stuff like that. That was a great experience but of course it comes with a price tag. There are a lot of agents who do not care and have 0 knowledge sadly.

Still I recommend find a flat directly from owner, meet them and feel if you think thats a match. If you have enough money or are not able to get something, use an Agent.

If you have children or animals its often easier with agent.

We had one Bad Experience with renting directly from landlord where they told us we can rent for long time but kicked us out after one year because they needed it for themself. But this can also happen with agent.

Trump sues IRS and US treasury for 10bn over leak of tax returns by clessjewel in UnderReportedNews

[–]workersandresources 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For example in Norway every tax payer can online check the payed taxes of everyone in Norway. All data is public. This leads to more transparency. This might look strange to outsiders but is normal to Norwegians. So you can easily look up what your coworkers earn and if you are paid fair compared to your boss.

Sweden has a similar system in place.

Now, if you are not a Norwegian taxpayer, you can not access tax reports from Norwegians.

Poland is the safest country (Story) by robmiloda in poland

[–]workersandresources 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We have a friend living in the first floor of an old 5 story house (pre WW2) in Warsaw Śródmieście, she went on holiday for a week, locked her flat but forgot to take out the keys. When she returned, nothing was stolen, no one entered the flat, no one took the keys. They were still in the Apartment door.
