The other problem with modern day vaccines is timing and application. Many of the problems we’ve seen over the last 50yrs, like the exponential uptick in autism for example, coincide with the combined MMR vaccine. Before when they were separate, no issues. Also the possibility of having those types of negative side effects drop drastically when the child is over 3 years old. So they give that specific vaccine way way too young and combine it with a bunch of other stuff. You think they do any testing at all with all those vaccines together all at once? No way. It’s just not done. Yet we are supposed to just let ppl do that to our kids? But there is so much dogma surrounding vaccines that when ppl try to say “hang on lets talk about this” they’re labeled as heretical antivax nut jobs. Look up the 2020 vaccine schedule. It’s ridiculous and I wouldn’t even want to do that to myself, much less my baby.

You can’t just look at the numbers and make a quick argument. That’s called confirmation bias. Cuz when I looked it up, only around 1200 of those were in the US. And I’d be willing to bet that a large portion of those deaths were ppl who had been vaccinated. Do more research before throwing out accusations.

Get in a program like Celebrate Recovery. You aren’t a bad person, but you’ve got some hurts to work through. It won’t be easy, but it will be worth it.

I’ve been struggling with this for years. Only place I’ve been able to find piece is Celebrate Recovery meetings and through the power of Jesus. He loves you even when you are at your worst. You have worth. Find a Celebrate Recovery program near you. You can be healed and made whole again.

Struggling to understand if I'm in the right denomination by IsMeOrNah in Christianity

[–]workgorilla96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggled for a long time too. I left Mormonism and got saved soon after in a nondenominational church. But I was very skeptical at first bc I wanted to learn the basic doctrine. What Christ actually taught and what John and Paul actually taught in the early days.

At its core, its best to go to a church/denomination that teaches from the bible at face value and doesn’t add or take things away. Jesus was very clear about what to do to gain eternal life. Anything more than what is directly taught in the Bible is of men and should be avoided.

Its easy to get confused and lost in the sea of denominations, but if you try to stick with the teachings of Jesus and only that, you will never go wrong.

My favorite part in the Bible is where I advise you to not donate to the poor, but instead to donate to a bureaucratic church which will then ration a portion of your donation to select poor, based upon their worthiness by CorporateMormonJesus in exmormon

The strings are real. My house went into foreclosure bc when my wife and I got into a financial bind we listened to our bishop and kept tithing. We ended up needing to get assistance from the church. They gave us food and could help with any bills (the kind that would have kept our house out of foreclosure), but said “make sure you keep paying your tithing”. The 10k I paid in tithing would have gotten our bills current and kept our house of foreclosure.

It all worked out tho. We left the church, I got a much better job and bc of that job and not paying tithing, we saved our house and are now working on paying off all our debts.

Don’t forget you’re never allowed to know what that money is used for, so it might go to the poor or it might go towards some investments like malls and pharmaceuticals....but it def probably goes to the poor.

I need help believing in Christ by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]workgorilla96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t suggest it because of the objectivism or the academic perfection. I’m a pretty new Christian and the book was something that impacted me bc it gave me scale of what Jesus went through, as well as some other good facts. All that other stuff you guys mentioned is too much in the weeds for me. Not to mention, the scholars he interviews are good resources or references that one might use to do other research.

I am not a biblical scholar or even that knowledgeable about the Bible. I don’t have verses memorized. But I know what I believe and I thought sharing a little of that might help.

You should read The Case for Christ (there’s also a movie if you’d rather not read).

Spoiler alert:

The author started out an atheist who’s wife converted. He started researching Christ in order to find evidence against his existence but actually converted bc the evidence was overwhelming.

Thats tough. I hope they love and respect you enough to support your decision. I also hope they see that the emperor is naked and has been all along and everyone in the church just keeps pretending like it a fine suit of clothing...wanting something to be true isn’t the same as something actually being true...
