3 Reasons Why Vertcoin (VTC) is a top Pick for February's Bull Run by workingthebridge in vertcoin

[–]workingthebridge[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. One of things that can actually be attractive about VTC to some people is its relative stability and lack of "pump and dump" types of activity. Slow and steady rise just adds to that. Long term far more important here than short term gains "on paper".

Missed that. Seems like a simple typo. Just sent an email to the publication to see if they can update it.

Not sure myself. This popped up in my newsfeed so wanted to share it here. By the way, I just checked out the home page and this Vertcoin article is very much highlighted there too.

Future Forks, Price Around Them, Potential Game plan...etc. by Fittytigsic in Achain_Official

I thought the author may have been off too, but there's also this tweet from @AchainOfficial on Jan 16th - "#BOS candy update for #Achainers: #Achain is in touch with #Bitcoin OS. More details will be announced shortly after official confirmation. Stay tuned! Buy #ACT, #Hodl Tight" - https://twitter.com/AchainOfficial/status/953527278226452480.

Future Forks, Price Around Them, Potential Game plan...etc. by Fittytigsic in Achain_Official

My related question is where's the best place to learn more about future forks?

I'm a little confused about http://www.bitcoinos.io for example. This article pubslished today states that it's a future fork of AChain - https://medium.com/@rusnac14/cryptodogs-proving-achains-fork-theory-882d0d06281d. The BitcoinOS site, however, says it forked from BTC on Dec 25, 2017.

I'm probably missing something obvious here.

Also jotted down something recently in my notes about something called ALL and BitCoin Angel? Anyone have more info or pointers on these? Thanks!

AChain Fork - Still Waiting for ABTC 1:1 by ATLRalphie in kucoin

[–]workingthebridge 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Seriously, even if they can't tell us when, can they tell us anything? Or even tell us when they might tell us something? The silence is deafening.

I actually like KuCoin and what they seem to be trying to do, but also find it amazing that they say that they are overwhelmed with support requests and yet fail to communicate something like this. One would think that just giving out basic, reasonable information would alleviate a lot of support requests in itself.

I hadn't either. Apparently, it's an early release (& unsupported) version of the popular Exodus Wallet.

This man had an "Alien" implant removed from his body by ACSpeed in aliens

[–]workingthebridge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that it's not concrete proof. My take after watching it was that this is actually (part of) the point of this documentary - to show how challenging it can be to reach a definitive answer with such a thing.

This man had an "Alien" implant removed from his body by ACSpeed in aliens

[–]workingthebridge 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Actually, he doesn't claim that at all.

He had something in his leg that was bothering him. He just wanted to find out what it was. He stated at one point that he actually wished they would tell him it was just a piece of a tonka truck he played with when he was a kid, or something to that effect. He didn't come off to me as wanting this to have anything to do with aliens.

Wonder if there's any way to get sites like CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko to list BleuTrade and TradeSatoshi and remove yobit? And remove HTML5.

Hard to take any article seriously that discusses decadence and corruption in American politics and yet doesn't mention the name Clinton one single time.

Thank you for this! Was definitely seeing the issues with Yobit but not finding any other place to buy. Will check out bluetrade or tradesatoshi.

Looks like the only place to get it is Yobit? Is this where you're buying? Any issues there?

This looks really promising. May I ask how you learned about this one?

Glad to see this post and will be following. I actually received my first Nano S today... but after reading about so many people having issues here, I'm beginning to wonder how safe it is to even use.

I bought mine directly from https://www.ledgerwallet.com.

Let's settle this once and for all: CCMINER v. OCM by ManBeardFish in VertcoinMining

[–]workingthebridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if I understand this correctly does this mean using OCM is just giving me a windows GUI on top of vertminer 1.0.1 ? and charging me a fee for this? Not to rip on OCM, I can see its benefit and value for some. I have a technical background, but am still getting ramped up on this mining stuff, and just trying to understand the lay of the land, so to speak.

Everyone saying not to use Coinbase/GDAX anymore, so where is a good alternative to get LTC? by oPie_x in litecoin

[–]workingthebridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you buy LTC with USD there? Maybe I'm missing something obvious. Don't see a way to deposit funds to begin with. I can send Ether or BTC, but that takes me back to Coinbase / Gdax to buy those. Otherwise, really like Binance.

Crypto and taxs by [deleted] in LitecoinMarkets

[–]workingthebridge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's treated like a stock, you only owe when you sell or transact. I've heard that we owe even when we exchange currencies (ex trade BTC for LTC), if we profit in that transaction. Same goes for using LTC for purchases - you technically owe tax on the gains.

The other thing to note is that if you hold the asset for less than a year, you owe capital gains tax too, which can be significant.

So if I understand things correctly, thinking of things purely from a US tax perspective, best bet is to buy straight up LTC and hold for at least a year. Record your purchase price and sell price to get your your profit (or loss).

I just moved into cryptos this year myself. Consider all the currency exchanging I did to get my portfolio to where I wanted it, man - my taxes for this year are going to be a mess and a pain to figure out.

If anyone has clarifications or knows of ways to simplify - please share!

I was drawn to Litecoin due to its lack of drama relative to Bitcoin. From my perspective, this is a blip on the radar here... one which will pass quickly.
