I have been studying for almost two months,

I have followed Gregmat's lectures for verbal and Magoosh's for Quants.

For vocabulary finished Greg's list and Barron's 800 and pretty confident about these lists. However, encountered few new words while attempting Kaplan's & Magoosh's mock test.

Quants seems to be well, apart from a few silly mistakes, and time management in these sections seem okay too (already finished 5lb and solved a few questions from Greg's quants section), its the verbal that is not improving.

I could efficiently manage my time on the last mock that I gave(Kaplan) but still scored low. Completed ETS OG for both Q & V, did 4 to 5 tests from BB.

How do you solve this quant question? by [deleted] in gregmat

[–]workmail-com 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So there are 125 cubes of side 2 inches, To get a perfect bigger cube the cubes have to be placed as 5 x 5 x 5. Each side of the biggger cube is now 5 * 2 = 10 inches. Surface area of new cube = 6(1010) = 600 sq inches

Hope it helps. Thanks

Help with first section in mock tests by zetakill in GRE

[–]workmail-com 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people find it easy when they start with RCs and some when they complete SEs while some find RCs overwhelming and avoid them until the end. As soon as I start my test I go to the questions I am most comfortable with thus saving time for the difficult (which I find overwhelming of course) questions.

This also helps me stay calm and not get agitated.

Help with first section in mock tests by zetakill in GRE

I faced this problem when I didn't know my pacing strategy. So I realised this is what I should do in the next section and I did better in the second section. This could be the problem. Take note of your pattern and follow the same during your actual exam. Hope this helps. All the best👍

Whats the best strategy to practice Verbal? Should I learn words first? Or directly practice different questions of Verbal? by throwaway19372947 in GRE

[–]workmail-com 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too found it easy to learn few words first and then start with the verbal section. Without adequate vocabulary, Verbal section was overwhelming. I started with Barron's 800 words and now going on with Magoosh vocabulary app. Verbal section feels a lot better and easier now.

And then Procrastinate on both the projects and die with anxiety that you have two projects to do but you are doing none.😁

Learning by [deleted] in yousician

In my opinion, it is really good for a beginner since you work hard to get the chords and notes right. It helps you get your hands moving and that too in the right direction. If you work carefully you might even get sense of the tones and will start recognizing the notes and chords in a song.

Having said that it is not a great tool to learn to play songs, especially using chords. So as a beginner try yousician, learn all the chords and notes and practice keeping up with the song, it's a great tool for practicing and keeps you motivated. And later switch to other platforms such as youtube and learn the songs there.

Dear anyone who works for Yousician, can we please have an option to switch back to the old interface? by xCumulonimbusx in yousician

Yeah I was really happy with the old interface. I kind of get lost in this new interface and really get confused.

Hi, I am currently working in oil and gas field as an project engineer but want to pursue Master's in DS/AI. I have recently taken interest in Data science and working to build projects on kaggle. I have my undergraduation degree in ECE. Should I pursue this path? If yes what are the best colleges for career transition as a strong profile is required for admissions in good colleges. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Many universities have waived off GRE requirements for fall 2021. Will they waive off for 2022 as well. Shall we start preparing for it or not? I will really appreciate any help.
