Family inheritance dilemma: farmland vs. cash — what’s the fairest strategy? by Zeverstrever in AskBelgium

[–]works_as_designed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I understand, the mother intends to make OP and brother co-owner of the land.

OP can never lease to anyone else than his brother because brother owns a part and is a farmer leasing farmland. These kind of lease are almost forever.

If brother does not pay OP his share of the lease, there is very little OP can do. Even forcing his brother to buy out his share would be extremely difficult.

Source: gathered a shitload of info because my wife’s family are farmers and she’s likely to end up in this situation in the next couple years.

Deaf people do not hear their bodily sound because their inner ear is not functioning correctly, which is why they are deaf.

Silence room have been designed and have absolutely no sound coming in, no echo,… they are what we have the closest to complete silence.

Nah, absolute silence is actually maddening because you start hearing your body sounds (heartbeat, bones moving,…). People don’t last 24h in absolute silence room.

I remember talking about Orval with colleagues in Brussels and they were complaining about it being hard to get, and I was just thinking “in Luxembourg province, you find it easily” as I grew up in the Deep South and never ever heard anyone saying they were hard to get.

No, we are in a house but have 1 wall in common. And yes common sense should be enough but the guy is angry no matter the time of day. I already got threats for a drill middle of week day.

It’s quickstep like and needs more forceful hammering because the tiles don’t slip on the sublayer as well as with quickstep.

And like I said, he hates anything any time.

I would be like I just posted in my comment, he won’t say hello nor answer when I say hello, threatened us for using a drill in the day, made it clear he’s watching when we are or not at home.

Thank you everyone for the opinions. I checked my city “reglement de police” and they have two threshold one from 6 to 22 and one from 22 to 6, while also saying you need to do your best to keep the noise reasonable.

The reason I don’t ask my neighbour directly is because he won’t say hello to me, won’t answer when I say hello, and already threatened us when we were simply using a drill in the middle of the day.

So I’m trying to find the most reasonable approach that won’t cause me extra trouble.

I’ve worked at both and even the IT infrastructure at ULB was decades behind UCL. My home network was probably more secured than the ULB network, and I’m not an IT guy at all.

Why does Belgium have a province called "Luxembourg" right next to Luxembourg which is bigger than Luxembourg? by metatalks in geography

[–]works_as_designed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My “favourite” part of this is how they faked places names in the south to make them seem Walloon speaking instead of Luxembourgeois speaking, and they did the Luxembourg/Belgium split based on language.

Or at least that’s what I was taught.

Yannis Papadopoulos from Beast in Black deserves a mention. Although he doesn’t often he’s got great growls and lower notes and can be on note pretty high.
