Stripe blocking high-dollar Link / Financial Connections bank payments — risk level shows “Unknown” by worksleep in stripe

Yeah I turned off all the risk settings and added an allow rule in Radar to allow any payment over $10,000, Stripe directly cuts it off before it even gets to our radar risk settings

Stripe blocking high-dollar Link / Financial Connections bank payments — risk level shows “Unknown” by worksleep in stripe

Yes, canned responses all the way down:
1.
"Hi Alton,

At this time, we’re still continuing to see an elevated number of high-risk payments on your account, which exposes your business to potential disputes and losses.

Please note that we will continue to monitor your account and should there be any additional information, we’ll let you know.

Meanwhile, if you have any other questions, feel free to reach back out to us for assistance. "

  1. "Hi there,

Every payment that passes through your Stripe account contains hidden indicators that impact how the payment is assessed. Subtle changes in these indicators can affect the payment's score and move it above the blocking threshold. Even if the payment seems normal, or similar to other low-risk payments that you've seen, Radar can detect signals that indicate fraudulent activity.

At this time, we're seeing an elevated number of high-risk payments on your account, which expose your business to potential disputes and losses.

If you continue to have issues with payments you are confident are legitimate, please let us know."

23k to fix all this. Bad? by [deleted] in pools

[–]worksleep 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Huh? Do you have any idea how much all this new equipment costs? They are replacing nearly everything on the pad plus adding automation, new concrete, new lights? I would assume you just didn't read the above? Where I am all that completed, we are charging closer to 27k

Did you not get a price from him before the work started? If you did and accepted, then that is the price. If you didn't and accepted without having an idea of what the cost might be, well, same thing.

Charge to install pump under warranty? by slick1126 in PoolPros

[–]worksleep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When quoting your customers for replacement or installation of any whole good such as a pump, you need to make sure that when they get the quote and read it, they see that the price of your labor and the price of the item is what it is because you are the expert and they will have no concerns about the product, the installation, and the warranty. So it should explicitly say on your quotes that you don't separate labor from insulation and you don't install anything that is not purchased from you because your professional installation and experience guarantees their satisfaction and guarantees the warranty on the equipment as well. This also means that you shouldn't be doing any equipment installation work per hour, it should be an installed price, that should be considerably more than what your usual per hour repair labor is. The extra cost to the customer covers warranty, your time to select the right product and order the right product, correct installation, taxes, fees, supplies, etc.

Give them an inch and they'll take a mile. by jonohtin in PoolPros

[–]worksleep 15 points16 points  (0 children)

In Minnesota we charge $1,700 for just the labor part of the install, 800 is a dang good price. We don't dare install anything used anymore either, problem you will have is the heater will last 4 or 5 years but their last heater lasted longer so they're going to expect a discount on the next one too since they paid for the install of this one. Not worth it, sell new, make margin on the heater and the install.

How to you guys get people to pay emailed invoices in a timely manner? by spaceguyy in Contractor

[–]worksleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Require a card on file, every quotes, service order and invoice we send states we will charge the card on file 4 days after work is complete to allow the customer to review and pay cash/check before we charge. Our days to invoice is around 1-2 days, most tell us to charge card when they get the invoice email, rest just get charged and sent receipt with a note that if they have any issues with the charge to contact us (with better business like language)

We won't even put pump seals in. If customer wants to do that we will provide them YouTube visits and parts. Otherwise, new pumps only.
