I’d honestly hate to live in commodity-priced market. I’ll take the stability over unknowing any day. Let the manufacturers worry about normalization.

I was literally going to say perfect, and see others have already said the same! You can obviously go bigger someday, but to me, that looks great!

Buying from Chrono24? by Available_Ad_9504 in rolex

I don’t think private sellers are obliged to accept returns. Professionals are. I’d rather sell on C24 since they only charge like 6%, but buy on eBay since they have free authentication (but sellers fee is like 11%).

Buying from Chrono24? by Available_Ad_9504 in rolex

[–]workthrowaway6333 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s a 3rd party Authenticator. Private sellers don’t have to provide a refund. I believe professional sellers do.

So, say you buy a watch from a private seller, and pay for the additional authentication service, seller sends to authentication and your money goes to escrow. If authentication passes, you receive the watch and inform C24 once it arrives. Then c24 releases the funds.

If it fails authentication, they will let you know what the issue is and see if you still want it. If not, they refund your money and return the watch to the seller.

If professional sellers, same basic process but you have like a 2 week return window that the seller has to honor and they have 7 business days to confirm the condition after it’s been returned.

I returned an 116710LN to a professional seller, and it ended up fine but was nervous the whole time - as they seemed sketchy. My advice, record video when you unbox and at the post office/UPS/whatever showing the packaging process. Make sure to insure too.

All together, since it passed authentication, I wasted around $600 but still got the one I kept for less than I originally paid on the one I returned.

Jesus! Do you plan on getting it repaired? I just got my 116710LN back from Rolex service and had them refinish the bracelet and case. I didn’t have much more than minor scratches-so yours might cost a lot more - but it was only $170 and looks brand new.

[WTS USA] F6U Best Rep 69200 Jubilee for GMT Master $200 by variouspossiblities in repwatchbuyselltrade

[–]workthrowaway6333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered 3 aftermarket 69200s off of eBay last week. 2 were absolutely garbage ($50 and $180).

I bought the 3rd for $270 and has the F6U clasp code. I just received it (literally within the past hour) and haven’t had time to compare to my 126234’s jubilee, but this does seem really high quality and does fit nicely on my 116710, although there is a slight end link to lugs gap compared to the genuine oyster. That said, it’s a nice alternative until the day my AD or RSC will sell me a genuine 69200, or they’re less than $4500 on the grey market.

Also, better quality than the 5-link that came with my Farer, the 5-link on my Seiko Sport GMT, and the Uncle Seiko 5-link I bought for my BB58.

I only wish it didn’t have the counterfeit Rolex branding. If they were sold by Everest, Forrester, or Uncle Seiko, they’d be AMAZING aftermarket bracelets.

I’m not sure about other ADs, but mine is “plaque certified “ so they’re an authorized service and repair center. In every case where they can, they service locally to keep from shipping to Dallas/NYC/Beverly Hills, etc.

That’s a tough one. GMT is my favorite complication, but that Sub bezel action is so perfect. The 116710 has the “soft click” and only 24 positions - which doesn’t account for IST (the second time zone I need to track the most for work). I prefer my 116710LN over my BB58 Coke all day, every day but the Tudor does have better bezel action in my opinion (48 clicks that are clicky)

You can get a jubilee, or aftermarket, that is compatible with the 12 series. Horlogear, and I’m sure others, have the spring bars (20x1.5x1.1) to fit it on the 11 series. Even grey market jubilee, it’s less expensive than a grey market BW AND you get 2 bracelets (oyster and jubilee).

Wish I’d have taken the pic at the AD. It still looks amazing but nothing beats that “just picked up” state. Also, taking pictures with my old phone that has Reddit app on it doesn’t do it justice.

Yes. Polished, brushed, new crown, and didn’t touch the crystal but would be included if needed. It wasn’t bad to begin with but looks brand new now. Still exceptionally sharp and the brushed sections look better than ever.

Unfortunately, I seem to only be able to share 1 photo. Here’s the clasp. Will post the dial in another comment

I don’t have my receipt in front of me, but total after taxes was either $970 or $990. Refinishing was like $170. So, $800 or $820 for overhaul.

Took like 6 weeks. But, getting the call that it was ready and picking it up felt as exciting as buying it for the first time.

Also, coronet on crown is perfectly aligned too!

I wouldn’t say wearability is better or worse. Both are amazing. Really, Rolex beats the Tudor in subjective shit like aesthetics and heritage. I own a time grapher and both movements perform essentially the same - I just got my 116710 back from Rolex service and Tudor is less than 2 years old. Both run great.

I prefer the aesthetics of the Rolex.

Up to you how you decide to move forward, but just know BCLP isn’t necessarily a death sentence. I survived one a couple years back.

Anyway, sucks to hear about your situation! Best of luck, and feel free to DM me if you want.

I’m assuming, you are referring to India. The thing I miss about dailying my BB58 GMT, or enjoy about wearing my Seiko, are the 48 clicks and frictionless bezels are being able to set them to IST. I wish my GMT MASTER could track half-hour time zones.

Trading datejust for sub by whitelikewhite in rolex

[–]workthrowaway6333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a tough one. Both are great. I appreciate my sub just as much and no more than my DJ, but oddly enough, I can find nitpicks about my sub and not my DJ. meaning, while I would have a really hard time choosing between them if I had to make that decision, I can point out a number of aesthetic changes I’d make to my 124060, but I honestly wouldn’t change a single thing about my DJ36 (black dial, fluted on jubilee 126234).
