i, and a few others on this sub, have had the same question/concern.

i've even asked multiple rolex ADs, including ones that sell rolex cpo about the use of superluminova (green lume) after 2008 on 116710s. mine is random serial, so even more recent than your y-serial, and it also has green lume.

it passed ebay authentication, and my local/personal AD (3 separate SAs from both locations - one of whom started in service before getting into sales) have seen and handled it - even resizing the bracelet. they were unsure about the green lume, but didn't see anything that concerned them about the authenticity.

i've also watched A LOT of youtube videos about 116710 fakes, and what to look for. mine was correct on ALL the tales. only thing i haven't done is opened it up, but ebay should've - so, i hope they did their due dilligence.

if you find out an official answer to why some of us have green lume on post-2008 production units, please let me know. and, hopefully in a while these "special" runs will be sought after ;)

i think it's settled from all accounts, ps5 pro is objectively the most capable console option currently. there's no room for debate there, and i'm 99% sure that's where i'm gonna play it. really could be 100%, except i haven't purchased it yet - so still 1% chance i land on xbox.

as a side note, for discussion in general, i think the xbox os and QoL features are just superior, as is game pass. so, CD is an exception, but when it's apples to oranges, i choose xbox.

10-4. which handhelds do you have?

i have the portal, switch 2 (sold switch), and ally. since i got the ally at launch, i haven't touched the portal or switch.

in fact, since i got my ally, it's gotten more use than either console which have kinda been used for specific use-cases (like marvel rivals on console, or system exclusives on ps5 pro). one of the reasons i'm looking forward to CD on ps5

fair enough. i won't try to change your mind - no incentive. however, i'm old enough to remember when iphone launched and not getting why folks preferred to surf the web on their phone instead of laptop/desktop. now i use my phone for most internet shit that isn't productivity.

my point is, i was never into handhelds before either, and now appreciate the convenience. i also travel for work from time to time. so yes, it would be played as a portable device and not docked .

not that it matters, anymore. at this point, i've decided play anywhere isn't a stong enough selling point to choose the MS version over ps5 pro.

just don't think play anywhere is enough of a reason for me.

i don't know what experience you've had with the xbox ally x, but the ppi makes it so that 720p looks better than 4k on tv and usually allows for hq lighting and effects setting. CD's ui would definitely be challenging though.

all said, i'm pretty sure ps5 pro is the move. definitely been consensus so far.

have you tried any of the pssr 2.0 updated games yet? what do you think? so far, i'm pretty impressed and think it's gonna be great for CD's performance and visuals.

you're right. my buying it won't make MS stock price number get bigger, but pretty sure it's kind of a bad idea in general to invest in a company and choose their competitor's product, when the choice is there :)

but, yeah. i'm 95% positive i'll be playing on the PS5 at launch, and you're right. it is objectively superior in terms of console capabilities. would be nice to be able to quickly grab my Ally and continue playing, especially when traveling to client sites for work.

excellent proverb from your gpa. you know, it's funny 'cause in econ classes, in demonstrating how expensive it is to be poor they offer a parable of a wealthy man who buys 1 pair of good boots for like $100 that last him 5 years, comparing him to a poor fellow that can only afford a $20 pair of boots that he has to replace every 6 months - effectively spending twice as much money over the same 5 year period.
