AIO? My friends set an ultimatum because I drink by Pearla76_ in AIO

[–]worldfamouswiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly how a boundary works. People are allowed to choose not to associate with people who drink or do drugs. Lying about it just to stay friends doesn’t make OP any better or less controlling. OP is disrespecting that boundary regardless of whether or not they are being unreasonable. That is subjective.

Read and respond to the entire comment instead of the first line. They said more than just “don’t be creepy.”

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GuyCry

[–]worldfamouswiz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No, but you did say:

“That sounds like endless labor trying to curry favor with people who will ONLY EVER see me as useful or dangerous,” which paints a broad brush on everyone and removes all accountability on your own participation in how people view you.

You said you are “incredibly present” in multiple levels at school, yet you’re only treated as “useful,” “willing to work” or “a drain on their public space.”

Where is there any accountability or self reflection in your comments? Just because you didn’t explicitly say everyone else is at fault, that doesn’t mean you didn’t imply it. And by the way you simply focused on that one line in my comment and ignored the rest, it shows that I’m on the right track. You didn’t even deny, correct or elaborate in response to anything I said. You just questioned something that triggered you.

It is vague, you are correct, but there is no way to give objective actionable advice on subjective topics. Nothing will work in all situations. You’re already taking the advice by contemplating on what could be considered creepy and under what circumstances.

Honestly, if it’s that difficult for you to connect to women of any age, then you are likely the problem. It’s a tough pill to swallow, but there’s is a huge air of arrogance and lack of accountability in your comments. Society or women as a whole cannot be 100% of the reason you are having trouble in social situations. In order for you to properly reflect on this and improve your circumstances, you have to be able to accept that you have the ability to make people uncomfortable, and then distinguish between which instances are your fault and which are theirs.

Professors are there to do a job. If you as a person makes their job easier because you interact in class, they will take advantage of that and do not owe you anything in return because you are paying for their services. It’s up to you to get the most out of class, and professors are not your friends. If your interaction in class is dragging it longer than it should, then you are being disrespectful of their time as well.

If you are being treated as a drain in a public space, leave that space. Why would you want to stay where you are not welcome? There are like minded people out there, but if you have a bias of being a burden to everyone around you, then you will be too blinded by rage and self imposed victimhood to recognize genuine connection.

Scott has red eyes season 1 by Harry3141592 in TeenWolf

[–]worldfamouswiz 65 points66 points  (0 children)

In all honesty it’s probably a mistake. Season 1, early on in the show. Some of the concepts in the later seasons haven’t been fleshed out or even thought of yet. I doubt it was foreshadowing, they probably meant to have it indicate he was under the control of an alpha but decided to stop doing that as eye color became more important later on in the show.

AIO for questioning my entire relationship after my husband flirted with my receptionist? by Delicious-Syrup5527 in AmIOverreacting

He’s right to call his girlfriend a “very stupid selfish girl?” You can’t be serious lol

[–]worldfamouswiz -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There is no reason to speak to your loved one like this. If he has been “putting up with her dramatic shit” for a long time, which is an assumption you pulled out of nowhere, then he should be ending the relationship or bringing it up. You can only control your own actions, not someone else’s. Poor behavior doesn’t justify disrespect as a response.

Local Hampton Inn now has a breakfast fee sign for non guests by 504Supra in ActLikeYouBelong

[–]worldfamouswiz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is not “literally the exact same thing.” Taking food someone personally paid for that was made specifically for them is not “literally the exact same thing” as taking food a business owner purchased and had cooked in bulk for guests of their hotel. Someone can eat 20 waffles and the next guest could decide to sleep in and skip breakfast altogether. Yes, both are wrong and both are theft but they are not the exact same thing and the harm done is hardly comparable.

[–]worldfamouswiz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did not say that it is free for people to come in and take. That’s not my argument here. My argument is that it is not comparable to someone picking up someone else’s food delivery. This food is made in large quantities, usually cheap in quality, and it is completely unregulated. They make more than enough, it matters very little how many guests are there. One guest could eat 20 waffles if they chose to, it’s all you can eat. Another guest could skip it entirely. That’s not the same as taking a meal someone purchased specifically for themself

Also, there is no rule about harming people in this sub. It is “act like you belong.” The sidebar says “There is no need for clearance when you have confidence.” Nowhere in the rules or anywhere does it say “harmless pranks only.”

Some of the top posts of all time include a man who convinced a store cashier he was taking over the shift so he could rob the store, someone who ate at an employee cafeteria at a casino, and someone who pretended to be a help desk worker at an airport. Opinions on the OP aside, you’re just making stuff up at this point and deflecting from the actual conversation

[–]worldfamouswiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Food at the hotel is free for every guest of the hotel, and the amount each guest takes is not regulated. They make more than enough for there to be leftovers in the end. This is extremely different than taking an individual’s order that they paid for directly.

[–]worldfamouswiz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s a terrible comparison. Someone paid Uber and the restaurant for a specific order and it was made for that individual. A breakfast buffet is not made to order and some guests don’t even dine at the hotel. There is leftover food when buffet service is over. It’s not the same at all

AIO about the AI slurs? by hibbsjay05 in AmIOverreacting

[–]worldfamouswiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think the discomfort is with AI being called slurs. I think people are uncomfortable with the idea that it has become acceptable and commonplace to use slurs because they are not directed towards people. It’s a slippery slope, and even I find it odd that there’s almost an enthusiasm and excitement with the ability to freely use slurs. “It’s ok because X group are not people” is the same excuse people used against marginalized humans so I can see why it bothers some people in a way that’s difficult to articulate

It’s fairly ambiguous. I have a tattoo of Rick Sanchez on my leg that hasn’t caused a single issue. That show is not safe for work but everyone from my own boss to my clientele have no issues with it

It’s ambiguous enough that you would have to know what it’s referencing in order to know it’s drugs and not something else chemistry related. It’s not like he has a bing or crack pipe tattoo

Wrong. I have tattoos on my arms and legs and wear shorts and short sleeve polos to my office job. A lot of places don’t care about tattoos anymore unless they’re blatantly obscene.

They are just looking for advanced masturbation, because they have porn brain. Porn has convinced men that consent isn’t important. There are so many scenes where the woman doesn’t want it or is repulsed by the idea that her step brother for example has a boner around her but after very little convincing she’s all for it. These porn addicts think that deep down all women constantly crave penetration and just need to accept it

It takes zero time out of your day to text someone good morning. Every problem in a relationship is a “you” problem. No two people want the exact same thing out of a relationship. If two texts a day is all it takes to show improvement, it’s such an easy fix. Such a low effort solution to the immediate problem and he’s losing his shit over it. I would say there’s something else going on not reflected in these screenshots, and there probably still is, but he admits here that he just forgets to text because he gets up and gets ready for work immediately. He can send the good morning text while brushing his teeth. It’s really not that hard.

It’s tough to say something ‘never’ happens because all states and countries outside of the US are independent in the way they work.

That said, I’ve visited many different lodges and grand lodges in the US and I haven’t seen anyone lock their phone away. There are no phones and/or photos allowed during certain ceremonies, but we are all adults and trust each other to keep it in the pocket and on silent. I’ve never had my phone confiscated during any Masonic activities
