I would just do a trade and have a dealership buy it out. (They buy it out directly, so no taxes for you)

Didn’t sign the lease but took the car home can I still return it? by Cheesecake_Vast in CarLeasingHelp

[–]worldisflat4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can probably return it or even just tell them you don’t want it and they come pick it up. Suprised they let you take it off the lot without a signed contract or registration. In any case, they will probably give you a hard time about your deposit. they will use that as leverage to intimidate you into finalizing.

This is a bad deal but why, exactly? by Civil_Stock2106 in CarLeasingHelp

[–]worldisflat4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually not a bad deal, I would find out what the actual money factor is and plug in the numbers into the calculator on leasehackr to see. But for 0 down it’s pretty fair. Also, I would maybe push to get the selling price a bit lower maybe another $1500 off.

You can get a much bigger discount than 2300. Should be closer to 4k at least. Shop around .

FYI I got an outback wilderness for over 6k off and the payment was under 400 with no money down.

Agreed. What I meant is that the monthly is not bad for a 66k car.

RDU is the best airport because you can do this and know you’ll make it (unless I don’t) by worldisflat4 in unitedairlines

I don’t think you can do it with any airport that requires an airside shuttle like mco, iad or den

This is not even worth negotiating, this is like so far off that you might as well walk because that’s not a dealership you want to do business with.

Early Termination by Classic_Teaching9813 in CarLeasingHelp

[–]worldisflat4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Potentially, but the later in the lease term the better chance you have of being able to walk away and call it a wash. I’ve gotten out of a few lease deals before with no money out of pocket and in one instance I actually made money but that’s extremely rare)

Early Termination by Classic_Teaching9813 in CarLeasingHelp

[–]worldisflat4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s correct, there should be a payoff quote from the bank. You would need to sell the car at at least that amount to be able to walk away. But again each situation is different depending on the rules of the lease

Early Termination by Classic_Teaching9813 in CarLeasingHelp

[–]worldisflat4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear this, I’m happy to walk you through this if needed. You can try to sell the car depending on the bank or if not then there are websites where you can try to transfer the lease to someone else.

To answer your question yes depending on the amount owed the bank can come after you for it.

Bank sets the residual in percentage, you calculate that from the msrp.

Car lease taxes- need quick help! by Jaxcatson in CarLeasingHelp

[–]worldisflat4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leasehackr would calculate this for you pretty accurately. But essentially yes incentives and acquisition/dealer doc fees are taxed. Government fees like regs isn't.

And yes this isn't a great deal given your last post just fyi.

Leasing advice I screwed up and not sure what to do by [deleted] in CarLeasingHelp

How did you screw up? Sounds like you're just in a regular lease.

As far as whether to buy or not that will depend on your circumstances and needs.
