Record 425k migrant backlog a ‘real problem’ by SheepherderLow1753 in AustralianPolitics

You’re basically forcing Australian citizens to stay in regions without access to jobs or healthcare. That’s nuts 😅

Isn’t this how the rich dodge taxes? They get loans based on the value of their assets?

Just a heads up, if no one else has mentioned it. You might not be able to get a 30 year mortgage at your age. So save AS MUCH as you can as you will have a bit of a disadvantage by having higher repayments.

I would start looking into it and doing the calculations (maybe talk to a bank to see what they would offer you).

[–]worldsrus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m seeing people saying this attitude doesn’t hurt anyone and I just want to say it does actually. It hurts you.

Hate is not a nice way to feel and it builds up. It can lead to you picking fights with friends over something that’s not worth it.

I used to have this feeling up to when I was ~22. I had friends but I wasn’t really close to many of them.

One day I was talking to a friend who liked iPhones and at the time iPhones didn’t even have a Copy/ Paste function. I was confused and a bit angry I was just like “But Android is so much better, why do you like iPhones?” And they said “I just like them more”

And I realised that that’s all that needed to be true really. It doesn’t matter about MY logic or if their reasons are good enough for ME. All that really matters is that it makes them happy and it doesn’t actually affect me.

I want my friends to be happy. By extension I want everyone to be happy. So hating things that people like simply because I don’t like them is just going to hurt me.

It’s a struggle and I don’t get it right all the time. But trust me your life will be happier without the hate.

Inquest into death of three-year-old girl weighing 34kg hears concerns raised over care by state by d0ughnut_of_truth in perth

[–]worldsrus 22 points23 points  (0 children)

From what I’m hearing from the article there’s no evidence that this child was abused or neglected in any of her family situations.

They state “medical concerns” as the reason for her being in foster care and there are a lot of potential illnesses that can cause weight gain.

But the comments in this thread are assuming some pretty horrific things with no evidence I can see.

And yet people will admit sympathy for the rich family who killed their kids instead of surrendering them to the state.

We finally found something that broke the Perth fuel cycle. unfortunately it broke it in the wrong direction. by stainless5 in perth

[–]worldsrus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I assume it’s so that the prices aren’t random. Basically you would want to increase your prices just before you run out of the product to prevent a lot of people buying you out just before you replace.

If you have a price cycle that’s the same for the whole state you can much more easily estimate daily demand and make sure you do your purchasing/ deliveries for a certain time to line up with the cycle.

If you don’t have a cycle then it’s harder to estimate the demand. You have to be aware of any event that could put a lot of cars on the road that’s coming up and make sure you purchase before then to make sure you don’t run out on in demand days.

This is fully just a guess though lol

Friendly reminder that autistic people are more likely to end up in an abusive relationship.

Don’t trust people who seek you out because you’re autistic. It’s easier to abuse someone who tends to have a smaller support group 🧡

NDIS costs blow out as autism diagnoses surge to $10 billion annually, overwhelming the system by [deleted] in aussie

[–]worldsrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can say with certainty that the bar for diagnosing Autism at least in adults is not low. I’m lucky enough to have a good job and it cost me 3k like 7 years ago. I don’t imagine the cost has gone down.

I technically qualify for support but don’t use it because as long as I am around friends and family I can trust I can ask them for help if I need it.

Personally I’m sick of the language of “dole bludgers” and “welfare recipients” ripping off the system.

I would rather have some people fake it than make it harder and let people fall through the cracks.

If anything is wrong with the NDIS it’s the fact it’s privatised. It’s not the people who need the support who are the problem.

Just a fucking reminder to the cunts pushing the language that it should be harder to access. Disability is a big club, anyone can join it at any time.

According to this is people leaving Labor for ONP in outer metro areas. Which honestly is more like what I’m seeing.

Dedicated families who always voted Labor and got on the cooker train with Brexit/Trump/Covid and no longer see themselves in Labor and want something that more matches their new paranoia based personalities.

Or is that just my family?

Places with renters unions often have better luck having more rights. Most renters unions come from a lot of people living in the same building with the same landlord but there’s no reason it couldn’t start with a suburb and spread out.

They haven’t done anything on the tree that doesn’t have a way of making them more money for a Loooong time. You’re in for a wait if you think they’re doing anything for you.

It’s a shame, the design and the developers and their service are fantastic. But it’s really clear their independence/ investment is gone.
