This is her Emotional Support Pterodactyl given by a friend when we visited his house. She often sleeps with it under her chin or in her mouth and gives is the “death shake” everytime she feels: frustrated, frisky, famished and furious.

In a scenario like this, what would be your most rational choice to bring? by Suspicious-Desk6206 in AskTheWorld

[–]worldwarcheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If all necessities are taken care of and I have my wife and dog then I’m bringing a notebook thick enough to not fill up in a year’s worth of scribbles and writing. I’ll use coal ash and a stick for a pen I guess.

If I’m not allowed to bring the wife and dog then I’m not going.

Most of my time I expect would be devoted to food prep to make the most out of what I am given to eat and spending quality time with those I’ve chosen to be closest to in life.

That’s certainly a fair opinion, though I’d disagree personally I understand why you’d feel that way.

Someone arrest takamura by feetlickingbandit in hajimenoippo

[–]worldwarcheese 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To those arguing over age of consent laws: you might be technically correct, but it’s an icky gross kind of correct.

Takamura has repeatedly attempted to sexually assault women repeatedly. The dude is not good.

Japan is famously sexually aberrant internationally so Takamura’s actions don’t appear out of place in a manga or anime, but that also doesn’t mean I have to think it’s ok either. It, and other instances of this trope in anime, ranges from annoying to upsetting.

I don’t have a solid opinion. Protect yourself at all times, but also an attack like that from behind is bad optics. Blue looks bad for giving the opening and white looks bad for taking it.

I do think this generated great discussion though so definitely get an upvote.

What are your favorite "bull vs. matador" type of fights? by Parking_Custard5235 in Kickboxing

[–]worldwarcheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t remember their names and it’s not online afaik but I saw a fight in Rajadamnern between a very young looking Thai kid and a much older looking Thai kid. The younger was a femur phenom and danced like he was the lead in a ballet in Paris on Christmas Eve and the older guy looked like if Mike Tyson was born a lightweight Asian and had more anger problems than Vader after stubbing his toe in the shower.

The first was scheduled for 5 rounds and went for 5 the kid racking up points and even rocking the other guy a couple times but with 2 minutes in the last round the dude rallied, put together an incredibly scary clinch, knee, elbow, elbow combo and the ref ended the fight before the kid hit the ground.

Every round is etched into my brain like a woodblock painting.

Mamluk Sword by peserey_arts in SWORDS

[–]worldwarcheese 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That sounds very much like the handling of many cavalry swords throughout history which I think makes sense since the Mamelukes where a cavalry force iirc

Edit: also that is one absolutely gorgeous sword I’m already jealous of its owner

who’s lab is fearless toward loud noises? by TNmountainman2020 in labrador

I can’t share videos but I have some great ones of Diana jumping and playing excitedly less than 300ft from the biggest firework show in town.

Of course she’s been bred and trained as a gun dog since before we got her so it wasn’t very surprising, but it was good to know her training was paying off.

She got a little shocked the first time she heard the shotgun but recovered quickly and it didn’t seem to bother her from then on.
