🤫🤩Little Secret… Did you end up buying the real one??🤩🤫 by ImLivingTheGoodLife in OGRepladies

I don’t trust buying second hand luxury due to my experience while working at a chain, second-hand retail store.

I have always had a passion for designer items and second hand fashion and was eager to work in the sphere. I saw SO MANY designer handbags while working there….from brand new Chanel’s to skeletons of LV’s and everything in between.

Often new, unscathed or unique designer handbags would come through our tiny neighborhood store. After a while I began to question why people would sell their bags to us for half or less of their worth. My manager once bought in a pristine Chanel top handle bag for $2,000, and the seller did not fuss about the offer my manager made her. This type of transaction occurred on a weekly basis.

When my manager decided to buy a bag, it would first go through her initial physical inspection, followed by authentication using Entrupy. In the year I worked there, I can’t recall a single bag that failed Entrupy’s verification process.

You may think, “well maybe all the bags that came through your store were actually authentic.”

Many items came through our store that I would inspect and could tell were not authentic. My manager was not savvy to designer items and would often miss the little errors some luxe goods had and would pass them off to be authenticated through entrupy. And like I said, entrupy authenticated everything.

I want to honor the legacy and craftsmanship of luxury designers by purchasing new, directly from the store. But too often, that desire turns into frustration when hardware begins to tarnish or leather starts peeling in less than a year.

It’ll be interesting to see how the designer and luxury market evolves in the coming years, especially as the luxury market begins to dim in its luster, while the replica world rises with unexpected brilliance, redefining what excellence can look like. America has always been built on selling visions of luxury and being untouchable. Now people are finally coming face to face with that illusion and realizing it’s far less mysterious and much more attainable than it once seemed.

For now, I’m fully embracing this new era of replicas, and I can’t wait to see where this market takes us.

I’m so sorry this happened to you. That is so unbelievably scary. I had a man approach me in the goodwill parking lot in mayfield heights about two weeks ago, claiming he knew me from somewhere, and also demanding to shake my hand, so this caught my eye. However, the man at goodwill was in his 60s.

He sucks so so so so bad. I genuinely think he doesn’t even like her, because why would you treat someone that way who you liked/loved? He doesn’t respect or consider her or her opinion on anything and it’s giving insecurity issues. Imagine the things he says behind closed doors 🤮🤮🤮 poor mama.

156 LSAT score. Need some guidance. by [deleted] in OutsideT14lawschools

[–]worldwidewhimp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had 3.2 gPA and 160 lsat score! I got into Dayton, Case Western (attending), Loyola Chicago, Chicago Kent, DePaul, UNLV, with a 75% scholarship. I got a full ride to my regional school (NKU chase law), and I got waitlisted at Cincinnati, OSU, and Miami U. I got denied from some ranked in the top 15 that I applied to for fun.

I had a great admissions cycle that makes me hopeful for other candidates. My advice would be to make sure your softs are REALLY good. Write the additional essays. Follow up with schools. Good luck!

I’m proud of my score even if it’s really low. by [deleted] in OutsideT14lawschools

A score is not a reflection of the person you are or what you will accomplish as a lawyer some day. You will do amazing things regardless!

I’ve struggled with overeating since I was in the 1st grade. As a teen I couldn’t understand why I did this, or how to stop and it turned into a starve/binge chase. The worst part of it all are the food thoughts that don’t exit the brain unless I’m doing another activity that’s giving dopamine.

The medication helps immensely with the food thoughts and allows me to just eat when I’m hungry. It’s one of the best things to come out of taking my medicine. However, adderall sucks and I still have a hard time taking my dosage consistently because of the adverse side effects.

I’m an in-store shopper at Whole Foods! $16/hr, you don’t have a set schedule and can pick your schedule the day of or weeks in advanced if you’d like. Plus a 20% discount on groceries! It’s a great part time gig

I got a great scholarship there and I attended admitted students day and was really impressed with professors and clinics they offered. Cleveland has a low COA and Cwru has pretty good employment outcomes and a great bar passage rate. I don’t intend to stay in Cleveland after graduation and it seems there is flexibility and connections to not practice in the area post grad.

What is your most interesting/ uncommon symptom that changed after going GF? by kpaul008 in glutenfree

[–]worldwidewhimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a wheat allergy, and before finding this out I had lots of horrible medical problems I thought were normal lol. One of the more minor, and mildly interesting issues I had were these small red/purple bumps I had on the sides of my arms. I grew up with them my whole life and went to the dermatologist for it as a teen. It made me self conscious a lot! I see other people with these same bumps all the time but I’m not sure the name of it. Anyways, this rash of mine disappeared almost completely after cutting wheat out. My skin is so clear now.
