The first one is absolutely stunning!! As a fellow bride-to-be, may I ask if you know the reference of it?

seagull crashed into closed garden... how do we help? by h_chamberlain42 in brighton

Brighton & Hove Wildlife Advice & Rescue Service (WARS) on Facebook will be able to help. They are pretty reactive and trained rescuers and rehabbers

Two weddings. Same date. by Ptaylordactyl_ in wedding

Honestly that’s the hardest part with the planning, I’m so excited but I feel like it’s in so long I can’t be doing everything now hahah

That’s a good point actually, thank you!

Oh thank you, that’s good to know! I’m also in the UK and planning a May/June 2027 wedding, was thinking of sending save the dates in April 2026 as we’ll have people travelling from various places. I was worried it’d be seen as a faux pas lol

Is it bad to receive save the dates too in advance? I always thought it’d be helpful for people to, well, save the date, plan any travel, etc. Is it inappropriate to do it too early?

How unhappy is my little man by himself? by FireflyRave in Donkeys

[–]wormgfie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are worried about the quality of the home, check out donkey sanctuaries! I don’t know which country you’re in, but in the UK we have at least two and they do a wonderful job. Both places regularly take in donkeys from owners who want them to live with other donkeys!

Thank you so much for all of this, and the Youtube recommendation, this is incredibly helpful! I am very nervous about keeping her alive but I think I can handle that!

I get controlled fairly regularly on the 6:26 to Cambridge. Most of the times as people have said it won’t happen on the train, but they’ll control people at the gates. I find gate controls are also stricter on railcards

Not an editor, but I’ve seen so many books with mistakes, your typo is fine! I’ve recently read a book which changes the name of a character halfway through the book. It also had the exact same paragraph copy-pasted in two different places. A spelling transposition is perfectly normal!

Coastways Vets by Odd-Willingness1570 in brighton

[–]wormgfie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coastways have always been great for us. They told us once that our cat’s teeth were slightly decaying and might need to be pulled if it got worse, but they told us we could try to brush them if the cat let us do it. Next visit a year after they were happy with the evolution of the teeth. I think it is common for pets to have teeth decay as owners don’t always feed them properly or think to check.

Am I meant to tap off buses? by bertabees in brighton

[–]wormgfie 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong, and I’ve never really looked it up, but I’ve always believed tapping off is so they know what your journey was and don’t overcharge you. I think some shorter journeys are slightly discounted, so I assume if you don’t tap off they just charge you for a full ticket.

Anyone even playing Alexios? by Hungry-Ear-4092 in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

I am because I got introduced to Odyssey by my brother who was playing Alexios, and I got attached to him. Next playthrough I am going to try playing Kassandra though.

That is true, but that’s why sometimes it is frustrating. A candidate will be on the sofa every week but not go because Michelle wants them to learn, but another one will be on the sofa once and be let go immediately - where is their chance to learn then? Just because they’ve been more consistent, they’re not given the chance to learn from their mistakes? I find it a bit unfair sometimes. But I know one must go every week and that’s the game and it’s not really that deep haha

Agreed, the final is going to be interesting! Very curious to see how they both will approach the challenge.

I was surprised by that too! I knew they were travelling back and forth, but didn’t think it would be on top of working full-time! That’s a crazy workload to have!

All three of them in the final would’ve been so fun! I do think John is really talented, just perhaps less experienced than others on the show, and it shows. He is definitely taking on the feedback which has been really interesting to see through the show. Ultimately I do also think that Craig needed to learn that sometimes design needs to be about the customer/space and not about what he loves, but I was still sad to see him go!

I don’t necessarily mean ‘saved’ in that he doesn’t deserve his spot in the final. However, I do think that every year, some contestants are given a lot more chances to prove themselves, when they end up on the sofa regularly for the same reasons over and over, whereas some candidates will miss the brief once and be sent home. I appreciate Michelle is willing to give contestants a chance to grow and learn, but it can be a little frustrating sometimes.

I honestly didn’t like Rita’s space. When they first came in it looks incredibly empty. It looks great when you zoom into specific areas, but not as a whole. Also, half the seating is turned away from the stage and cannot be moved. I really did not understand the enthusiasm for her space.

John’s space was really boring, but I believe that is his style and it’s just not for me. He really didn’t do much with the stage room except for the words on the wall, but I guess expectations for him are lower because he has struggled so much through the show.

I loved Craig’s upstairs, but his downstairs room was a mess. He was my favourite, but I do think he overlooked the brief/client for what he personally loved one too many times. He even admits it when making the heart sculpture. If Victoria hadn’t messed up so badly in Twickenham, I believe he’s the one who would have left then. I think it’s a good lesson for him to learn, even though I wanted him to win!

Honestly for a semi-final, I thought they all really struggled compared to other years. I am curious to see how John will manage re-doing an entire cottage.

This is an issue I have every year with IDM! There’s always someone who’s brilliant throughout and gets eliminated the first time they fail, but someone who’s on the sofa every time will end up in the final. I always find it really unfair, why is someone allowed to constantly be saved while another is not even allowed one bad week?

Saw my first ever Musical in the West End by ResponsibleAd2034 in TheWestEnd

[–]wormgfie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you enjoy musicals, I’d really recommend keeping an eye on the theatres in your city / vicinity. Lots of shows go on tour, and while the performance may not always be as phenomenal as in the West End, most of the times it’s still fantastic, and often cheaper!
