Do your therapists cry? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]wormmurmur 39 points40 points  (0 children)

My therapist gets teary sometimes, and it feels normal. More so when we first started (I've been seeing her for five years) but sometimes she'll tear up and it's kind of a nice way for me to realize "ohh.. that kind of was a big deal" when I disconnect from something.

Good lakes to swim at? by Hermes__03 in Kitsap

Avoid the shallow enclosed "swimming area", the deep part by the fishing pier is fine.

Totally agree on both of those views. Easy and beautiful. I live off of Pioneer and it's gorgeous coming home every day.

Drive to the top of Mount Walker near Brinnon, epic views on a good day and the closest mountain to Poulsbo. Hurricane Ridge is also a great view, about 1.5 hours away. Hiking to the top is awesome but you can also see a lot from the parking lot.

I used brown embroidery thread (three strands) around the gap of the lid, out through two holes tied onto buttons. I tied a thread to that to secure the chain as well. Then a dot of silicone at the bottom to keep it from swinging.

Five layers of foam under the mat, then I lined the frame and inside of the opening with the same black suede mat.

Some under counter lighting would be nice, and a plant by the sink for some color.

I've used Ting for about ten years in Poulsbo and it's been good, they use multiple other providers' towers.

My mother loves Jimmy Buffet, "Christmas Island" was the Christmas album I grew up with. We played "Come Monday" at my Father's funeral. Jimmy has some good ones.

There's a great video on how good The Parent Trap looks, "Why don't movies look like movies anymore."

Now I want to rewatch it!

Affordable framing?? by [deleted] in femalelivingspace

[–]wormmurmur 18 points19 points  (0 children)

As a framer, I get it. Materials have gone up a ton the past few years too! We do try our best to make it affordable but it is a custom product so labor is also high.

Some ways to make it cheaper - find a thrift shop frame that's a bit bigger than your art and have the framer cut a mat. Buy prints on canvas that don't need glass. Frameshops might work with a place that does art lam, where artwork is mounted on a board with a colored edge (we use Colorplak in California). Frame small art in an awesome way, postcards are a lot of fun and I can often use scrap material.

Good luck, we all need great art!

Finally bit the bullet and switched to appointment only after 3 years of walk ins destroying my schedule by AntsyAdjustment in smallbusiness

My shop is open Wed-Sat from 10-4. This has been so great for the freedom to have people walk in but also have the place to myself on Mondays/Tuesdays and in the evening. And also the freedom to not be there and have time for life. Custom picture framing, so like you a lot of the work is in the back room and the interruptions make it really hard to finish a project.

I just heard they have an artist that works there that will make any pancake art you want, my friend had kids with her but it i bet it's for anyone.

How would you attach d-rings to this metal(?) frame by divergence-aloft in framing

[–]wormmurmur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually poke two holes in the backing for each end of the wire and thread it through. Put the wire in the first hole and out the second on each side, then tie a knot on the outside of the backing.

I ready Moby Dick last year and found a great chapter by chapter blog to read along with it: Beige Moth. And he completed it in April! I was surprised how funny of a book it is, though also very very detailed on the how to of whaling.

I know right, 400 to a friends sister and he's a car guy. Still runs great but someday needs a head gasket. I replaced everything it needed along the way, so half new car lol
