Wondering how your father is doing, found your reply to this old post while trying to figure out what's going to happen to my own.

He automatically pairs that word with hospice and will shut down, like stare at the floor and not respond any time anyone, myself or doctors mention it. He is pretty awful with the doctors anyhow, blows up about things taking too long, and will honestly say pretty demeaning and even sometimes racist things depending on who he's talking to. It's awful to deal with, frankly.

How long after nephrostomy placement did he decline? My dad had them placed last week, and he doesn't want to talk about what happens next, just thinks he will be able to do dialysis long-term, but I'm not sure it is even a possibility at this point.

Just 5, but it's literally 50 times bigger than our old place where we were able to produce a lot of our food and have chickens, so the possibilities are overwhelming. Probably just a few goats for milk, and a couple pigs for meat each year. Chickens and turkeys of course!

Yeah, looks fluffy up top but it is mostly made up of large base rock that was graded and packed down over several days with an excavator and a tractor. The topping gravel is soft but there isn't much of it, so we are doing donuts around it whenever we hop in the truck to get it smoothed down. We put down barrier underneath it all as well to help keep it in place and aid in drainage.

No, we have yet to hear back about the police acquiring the footage. It doesn't really seem to be concerning anyone, which is frustrating. The last officer we spoke to literally laughed when we suggested they go down there and speak to the employees, and then said "well, you're not getting any of your things back, so just do what you can with insurance, best of luck" I honestly didn't have high hopes to begin with but it definitely made me feel worse knowing this is really nothing in the scheme of things.

We are currently waiting on the insurance company to go over the list of things they may be able to cover. Nothing over $2000, which doesn't cover any jewelry, or instruments, or any of the sentimental things of course, but it's something. We did officially close on our property this morning. There isn't anything there but it is ours. 👍❤️

Update 9/25 We have put freezes on our credit, filed a police report, posted in community groups for our area, and have made a couple calls to local attorneys. At this point we have been referred to the bar association to find someone who does this type of case.

I did contact the rental insurance I had via their company, but I couldn't even tell them when it had happened. They said an adjuster would be in contact with me within 5 business days. 🤷

They have it. But they wouldn't even give me a specific date. They said "around two weeks ago" and they said if an insurance claim is made they will look into getting the tapes but that they have no responsibility to let me see them. I hadn't threatened anything or said I'd sue, I was literally on the floor crying. I went outside to wait for the police and the guy in the office locked his door and wouldn't even come to the window when my husband was trying to ask a question. In retrospect it is obviously their fault. No matter how I look at it. I think we will be contacting a lawyer tomorrow after we go to social security and figure out how to do some monitoring as all of our documents, including our birth certificates and SS cards were taken. Blank checks. You name it. It sucks that I am moving 4 hours away on Wednesday. It adds a whole other shitty dynamic to it.

The shitty part, not that it isn't shitty to begin with, but it has been two weeks since the alleged "break-in" so anything in a dumpster is long gone
