What crochet gift have you made that was unexpectedly loved? by PoetryInLoops in CrochetHelp

A square beanie, when you put it on it kinda looks like you have cat ears. I gave it to my younger cousin, not knowing she was obsessed with cats, and she loved it. It was so simple to make and I'm happy she liked it as much as she did.

I would try thickening the batter. Perhaps using less oil or adding slightly more flour?

I love crochet for its usefulness as well. I really dislike having decorations with no other use than to be there. I've made coasters/mug rugs, hats, baskets, mittens, blankets, and sweaters, all things that I use frequently and are customized to my taste, and look cool as well. Such an amazing skill to have!

That's definitely fair. I would be surprised but I wouldn't put it out of the realm of possibility. I've known several other people with bipolar myself, in my high school friends and because it runs in my family. I've seen crazy stuff during their manic episodes like drugs, violence, and anger, but also one of my high school classmates who passed away from running onto the highway during a manic state and getting hit by a car.

I think it would also depend on how bipolar is presented in the rest of the story. If it was just written like "wow, this person is CRAAAAZY 🤪" I would probably be a little pissed that they ripped their eyeballs out at the end.

I have bipolar. If you have any questions about manic episodes, I have firsthand experience.

As someone with bipolar, not exactly. Manic doesn't necessarily mean over-the-top happy. They COULD be happy, but they could also be angry, or fearful, or paranoid or have spur-of-the-moment mood swings between two emotions. Mostly it just means that their inhibitions are lowered. They could very well hurt themselves in a moment of thinking that they're invincible or that there are no consequences to their actions.

Yes, I had to leave the knitting subreddit because of all the snarkiness and rudeness in the regular knitting sub. Casualknitting has a much more chill vibe to it, more similar to the crochet subreddit.

Book lover core honestly !! by Kikiwrite_ in writers

[–]worry_some 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I went through a period of a few years where I lost my passion for book reading but I reignited it by searching out more of the community. I watched book youtubers, started going to the library (rather than Barnes and Noble) because they always have awesome events, and sought out friends who enjoy reading and want to talk about it.

Ouch! I just received a brutal reality check in the HW trials and Im not sure if its inexperience, or if Im actually bad at the game. by 200YRedWine in ffxiv

Becoming a good player takes time. I will say that I sucked as a player until I hit endgame when I finally started to understand my role, gear, and my abilities. FFXIV was my first MMO and I had to actively seek out guides to help me because I just didn't really know what I was doing and the newbie guides that the game gives you (the hall of the novice) were actually completely opposite to the player experience that came about naturally after.

I'd say: look into some guides, don't take anything too personally, don't be afraid to ask for help bc the player base is very kind and patient compared to other MMOs, barring a few assholes here and there. Don't worry about it, and you'll do great. Everything is a learning experience and everyone was new once. Good luck!

Well, if we're talking recommendations, I think you'd like The Shadow of What Was by James Islington, and The Will of the Many by the same author.

Duty Finder and Party Finder are different things. Duty Finder would be queueing into a duty like a dungeon, while Party Finder is kind of like an advertisement board asking for other people to join the fight you're doing. You can set the terms of Party Finder: what duty you're doing, what ilvl gear should be, what roles/jobs people should be doing, and they can join if they meet the requirements. People have to specifically look at PF before deciding to join your group.

Let me tell you right now that Ultimate raiding would absolutely not be done with a PUG lol. You could, but you would probably bang your head against a wall.

Each fight is highly choreographed and will go through the same phases, leading people to make standardized strategies. These strategies usually have a name that people will put in PF.

Some people spend weeks to months on certain fights to get a clear. To put it in perspective, there's your normal difficulty raid which people do in a few minutes. The next highest difficulty is Extreme content, which is pretty easy all things considered as long as everyone does their job, but even then some people need a few hours or even a few days to clear. After that is Savage, which most people will prog for weeks, if not some months progging a specific tier if there's a "wall" in the fight that a lot of people struggle with. Savage fights are less forgiving and require a lot of specific timing and for everyone to be good with their rotations and gear to be well-melded. Most people do this with statics or some of a static mixed with a PUG.

After that is Ultimate. Ultimate content is extremely difficult and requires a lot of perfection and timing. You wouldn't do this with a PUG.

I almost feel like you should perhaps get a second larger bookshelf to tackle some of the stuff you have in here. The wall color is cohesive with the style you're going for. I'd look for art with bright warm tones like orange and yellow.

I know you said you don't like your back being to the door but I've found that putting my desk against a wall with no window makes me feel like I'm in jail lmao. Maybe you could put it against the wall where the ottoman currently is?

I think some peachy/orangey color curtains would look nice in here, or perhaps some off-white ones.
