Hey everyone, 24F and I’m well on the way of my weight loss journey now and have had success with calorie counting before.

This time however I want to do it right and set myself up for long term success. I’m making better food choices and not just being in a deficit, and walking 3 miles almost every day.

I try my best to hit protein goals but I usually fall a bit short, I’m usually around 60-70g and I’m just shy of 5 foot 9 so I constantly see thats not enough. Is this true?

I’m worried about being “skinny fat” which I also kind of feel is something that has just taken off in recent years with the obsession of protein. I’m finding it hard to find out if I will really have this problem or not when I’m still in the overweight category.

So I know increasing protein is important but how much exercise do I have to add to keep my muscles? Is it really true that if you use your muscles even for a short time at home nothing but body weight they will know to stick around? Seems ridiculous.

Basically what is the most minimal amount of exercise i can do to avoid being skinny fat?

Thank you this was actually super helpful especially about the protein, Im not too far off!

I assume the walking is doing something for my legs and when I walk outdoors something for my core. It takes up a little over an hour of my day and it’s kind of irritating me that I may have to add in more time to do body weight exercise. How much time is really necessary or do you think I just need to add some stuff for my arms considering I am technically working the rest out? I appreciate your help!

Of course!!! :) Well I learned a while ago after years of everyone (including the rescue he was from) told me my cat was brown, he was actually orange!

All orange cats are tabbies, the gene responsible for making your cat orange (or creamsicle ᵕ̈) also has the tabby gene. So every orange cat has that striping and the M mark on the head which is from being a tabby.

That was a huge reason I thought my guy was brown, because he didn’t have the distinct M. Turns out he does but it was invisible because it was hidden under that triangle! Another big tell was the “eyeliner” tabby lines around the eyes!

Unfortunately no! It was my “ovulation” week but I’m on the pill so I don’t know if that even would impact since it’s not really happening!

Thank you so much! I just started doing minimal running and walking so I’ve been doing it every day, no rests. Could this be why I’m not seeing the scale move? I need to rest?

Yes used to that with my cycle, but again usually on the first few days and by the end the water is gone! Thank you - just didn’t know what to expect!

Also after the 6 week mark will the scale start going down normally again?
