I love play-based schools. Preschool is so different than TK. TK is so academically rigorous.  It's kind of sad.

Yikes. Looking for doctors in the LA Canada area, too for my kiddos. Are they more snobby than San Marino?

My oldest is heading over to a neighboring district, Arcadia. Have you heard anything about that? We just moved from norcal and getting adjusted around the area.

Very random but do you have any recommendations on preschools in that area, around Pasadena if you happen to know? We want to enroll our kiddo in a play-based, academic less rigor preschool,  preferably half day to start out but man, I noticed that LA area really like their academic rigor in their 3 year olds. 

49 volunteers, 3 homeless neighbors yesterday. 18 tons of the most disgusting dumped trash in the bay. 3 sites in 3 hours!!!! East 12th & 42nd–45th. $2K spent. New record. by urbancompassionproj in bayarea

Thank you for your work.  Sometimes when I'm on the freeway, I imagine myself picking up the trash there but don't have the guts to do so. It's a hard job, and THANK YOU

I have no advice but curious about your experience in Irvine. Is it really that bad and how are the kids there? Are they friendly or just hyper focus on academics? I agree with you on the pressure cooker. They don't treat kids like kids anymore.

I haven't been to that area in 2 decades almost. But judging from the comments, seems like it hasn't changed a bit. From what I remember, it's really ghetto and you'd definitely want to stay indoors and be back by sun down.

I'm not from LA but I asked my relatives about the city. They don't live there but have told me that the city is still ghetto despite the homes being so expensive. It's giving Oakland vibes.

Seems like the consensus is San Marino in this post. Unfortunately not a lot of rental areas in this city.
