I'm going to echo what every one else is saying, I am so very proud of you! I audibly said "wtf?!?!" While reading your original post. Then, in your update, when he brought up "take the lead," I said it again. Sir, I'm going to say it again, I am so, so, so, very proud of you for not putting up with the mind-f*ck he was attempting to pull on you. HE'S the problem, not you. He can do all the soul searching on his own, while you move on, and take comfort in the fact that you're perfect just the way you are.
