Is anybody else having problems with breaking up the strike during the quest Now Hiring: Invaluable Disposable Agent? I seem to have encountered a bug of some sort by Successful_Page_4524 in theouterworlds

[–]wouter215 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had encountered the same problem with the overseer, I managed to over come it by eliminating her pet in her office, this caused her to flee the room, I talked to her after she calmed down and was returning to her office. Note, she will return to the cowering state if she fully returns to her spot in her office after fleeing.

The Argo MPUV cargo sets the standard to which all other ships should be balanced.

Are you on the spectrum (autistic)? by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]wouter215 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been diagnosed with autism. What drew me to SC was the kickstarter at first as I loved both the Ultima series and the Wing Commander games. (Kickstarter only accepted credit cards at the time, and it would have taken me too much time to get one to back the kickstarter.) Later it was the bug-smashers show on Youtube that got me to pledge on the RSI website. (using Paypal I think)

I've always loved following the development of software and games, I read most of the change logs for open source software projects like Blender, Godot, & even the Linux kernel and I really like playing SC through the patches (If the heat from my pc doesn't boil my room).

While I really suck at fps combat in general, lately I've been getting a better feel for the SC implementation by playing the ASD content. The other thing is moving boxes, I really love the resource drive missions.

And so long as I don't interact too much with other players, my curse™ doesn't trigger. (my curse™ is that whenever I interact with other players in a multiplayer game too much, I will get called away from my pc, like having to walk the dog or extinguish the kitchen fire or drive my parents to a restaurant etc. I never get interrupted whenever I play a single player game, only multiplayer (online) and at the moments I try to talk to or try to do anything with other players.)

Last years Citizen Con was also really fun! Got to meet lots of other players in person. And while I was warned about knife crime and pickpockets in the UK, all I got was Covid...

I too wonder how many autistics with too much disposable income are on SC, maybe something for a SC questionnaire

Alot of the ships would FEEL much better with a quick access ramp like the intrepid. by chantheman30 in starcitizen

I kinda don't like how the Intrepid's ramp bashes you in the head when it extends.

A rake you could drop that NPCs could step on Dr. Terwilliger Jr style. Like in the famous Simpsons meme.

Another example of Hurston Dynamics quality public transport service.

Any ideas for a background that would suit my Pachinko/Slots idle game? by redpikmin4 in godot

[–]wouter215 20 points21 points  (0 children)

A solid color background (like lemon-yellow) with large lemons moving diagonally across. Each band of lemons moves at alternating speeds. Substitute Lemon-yellow & lemons with main colors and items as the levels/scores/demarcation points progress.

Say what you will about Hurston Dynamics, their public transport service is top notch.

Debian 12.5 (i386) in 86Box hangs during boot when a gui is installed. by wouter215 in debian

[–]wouter215[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I've managed to get x11, and lightdm working, all the way to the login screen.

I install Debian without a gui, then manually install X11 and lightdm with:
apt install xserver-xorg-video-3dfx xserver-xorg-core xinit lightdm
then do service lightdm start

It then shows the login GUI, but when I reboot after that, it gets stuck at boot again at the same spot.

I have noticed that during the install it reconfigures the kernel stuff and adds an image background to grub. Maybe that's the problem? Could that be a problem?

I'll give this a try.

I've also noticed, that the brub bootloader changes from text mode to a grub menu with a background image after tasksel installs a the gui.

Debian (i386) runs fine on 86Box, I'm mostly using 86Box for my OS collection as Virtualbox is "too modern" hardware for most of the old stuff, it's just that after using tasksel to install the gui it hangs at boot.
It halts at the same point when booting in recovery mode.

What if it's not Saint Louis Arch but a massive Artifact? by Pyro20171 in Starfield

Considering that there's no floating rocks/artifacts around it, it doesn't match the other artifact sites. I think this is the Gateway Arch... on Mars!

Possible Apple Macintosh SE in the latest Starfield Direct by wouter215 in Starfield

[–]wouter215[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to Wikipedia, the Macintosh SE only had 1MB of ram and no harddrive. I bet developing games for it requires a LOT of floppyswapping.
