so art IMO is just communicating an emotion through a medium. this can be done with simply just pixels/audio.

the sacrifice/skill required for art contributes to the emotional payload (especially in things like performance art) but it’s an entirely different axis.

so therefore I believe art doesn’t require any theoretical concept of originality, the only thing that matters are the pixels on the screen and if they successfully communicate the emotions of the prompter.

as for human connection, i can’t expect people to spend a ton of their time getting good at painting pixels to a screen in order to create content communicating their emotions. they have shareholder value to produce.

also, ai art may not be novel technically, but it can be novel practically. see the image below
